In 2014 I spent a night of Easter week in Carrion De Los Condes and attended the evening service at the Iglesia de Santa Maria. As we entered, one of the clergy selected about 8 of us from the congregation, 2 pilgrims and 6 locals, to sit separately. At the right time, we were led to the front...
The Albergue at Presedo is a municitpal, very clean and welcoming. Small, there is a kitchen, but when I was there no market in town. The restaurant is nearby, very good. Turn off the camino path where signed and walk down to the main street for the Albergue and/or the restaurant.
On my first Camino, there were two local schoolgirls ahead of me as I approached the "Torture Tower". They turned off to the right on a path through the little field about 50 meters before the overpass. I was surprised, when half way up the overpass, to see that they were already on the road at...
There are two beaches at Finisterre. The inside beach, with the harbor, is in the pictures. Just behind the town, a short walk, is a beach on the open Atlantic, where there is good surf. Look for signs for Mar de Fora. This is a beautiful spot. This beach is not recommended for inexperienced...
If you decide to walk around the estuary, a stop on Neda will make the stages short. The walk around the Ria Ferrol is lovely, and the albergue in Neda is right on the water.
This stretch is one of the most used for "walking backwards". Markings are clear, although you will need to remain alert. There will be many other pilgrims now, so if you have difficulty, someone is likely to come along in the next 5 minutes.

I am considering the Aragonés starting March 24, first night in Jaca. Given recent reports of low usage and closed albergues, I am looking for feedback of the likely hood that that accommodations along this route will be open at that time. Is there a tourist office in Jaca or elswhere I might...
When I was there in March 3 years ago, the nuns were away and the Albergue run by the volunteers from the Spanish Association in Madrid. Last year when I was there in March the nuns were in residence but the service was in a different church at the other end of town.
Will wearing knee braces help, if I wear them from day one?
Jill
I wear braces on both of my old, worn knees, and use a little aspirin in the morning before walking. The braces help me a lot, and with them and walking poles I was able to walk 700 plus miles on the Camino last spring without...
The stairs at Sarria can be easily bypassed by turning right at the bottom of the stairs, left at the first intersection and left again at the first or second street. A bit steep.
I have stayed at Lua four or five times over the last five years, most recently in May of this year. My granddaughter and I stopped there both going and returning on the Finisterre/ Mucia circuit. At that time Lua was clean, comfortable, quiet and welcoming. The three bathrooms were clean and...
