The Empresa Freire service from the airport to Lugo has been permanently cancelled. It is hoped another bus company may take over the route. https://www.lavozdegalicia.es/noticia/galicia/2020/12/22/historico-bus-freire-lugo-santiago-dice-adios-despues-75-anos/0003_202012G22P10991.htm

Feeling a little bit bored so I thought I would resurect an old debate about which is the best Camino backpack. I know its way too big, too heavy and you can't use it as carry on BUT after a winter Camino I am now convinced that the Osprey Atmos AG is the best Camino backpack ever! It is sooo...
While on lockdown, I was wondering if we could start a daily post of Camino trivia (history and background). As a start here is some background on the monastery next to the wine fountain at Irache:

I am looking for recommendations for companies that do 1 day guided daytrips from Santiago to the coast including Finisterre. Anyone had any experience of these that they enjoyed and can remember the name of the tour company?
Does anyone have information about a plan to modify the route of the Camino and to bypass Viloria de Rioja? If so, this would be a real shame as it has one of best refugios on the Camino and is the birthplace of Santo Domingo de la Calzada.
One of my readers asked for some help to make a Camino from Sarria to Santiago. They are medically restricted to walking about 6km/day. I have created a PDF version of the plan in the resources section in case anyone else has a similar need...

I just tried to make a reservation in the Albergue O Mirador in April but they say that they are now only a restaurant and that the albergue has permanently closed down. I have heard rumour of a new albergue opening in Portomarin, does anyone have any details?
My last few Caminos I have used MAPS.ME which worked well on the CF but not as well on the CP. I noticed a few other people using MAPS.ME rather than Google Maps. I was wondering what are people's thoughts are on MAPS.ME versus Google Maps and does anyone use other apps? I use MAPS.ME to...
We are planning to walk León to Santiago in August. The most obvious route seems to be to travel to Madrid airport and then get the bus to León. For those who have started in León, what ways have you travelled to León? Has anyone travelled the last leg to León by train or by air?
