Hello! I will be walking the coastal route from Porto to Caminha and then crossing over to Valença to do the central route and then continue on to the espiritual route.
I am looking for sauna’s on this route. I have found one between Caminha and Valença at Hotel Minho.
I would love to know of...
I have done the Frances a couple times and loved it. Now I will be taking my mother along for her first time.
I would love your opinions on which route is best to take. We want to start in Porto.
I am quite confused and overwhelmed by all the different routes to take! The only thing I really...
I see you are more worried about the cost of normal food.. There is enough food available everywhere you go except maybe in the mornings, easily fixed by buying something the evening before.
As for supplements, I take a lot from home.
I take 2 weeks worth of supplements. If I walk for longer, I...
Fjalraven make excellent hiking tights/leggings with reinforced bottoms and knees. They make thicker ones for the cooler months.
Back in 2015 I walked the CF mid Sept till beginning of Nov. I had a simpel legging and a lightweight zipoff pants. Easy to layer for those extra cold days. I also...
I havent had to treat my Sea to Summit TR1 for bedbugs yet, but if I have to I would do it with steam. Could try to ask a drycleaner (tintoreria), or a car cleaner might also have a steamer
Birkenstock EVA Arizona. I used them last year for both shower and walking around town. Can wear them barefoot or with socks (always a classy look..) they have great arch support.
Also super lightweight...
Last year I stayed at Winederful and had a good night sleep. Comfy beds, loved the pods. No problem with other pilgrims.
This year I will be staying there again in May. On a Tuesday. If you end up there in the weekend it might be busier with non pilgrims?
Definitely check out Calle Laurel...
I’ve had mine for a year and never fell out. I got the leather version, maybe its different?
Love my my airtag! Has saved me a couple times when my keys mysteriously vanished…. (My little gremlins love to hide my things lol)
As I was printing out two stickers with my name and phone number to stick onto my poles I see my keys lying next to them.. with an Airtag. 💡!
I’m sure I am not the only one who constantly forgets her poles… right? LOL
Never again! Well atleast I’ll get a reminder from my phone 100 meters away...
Many good tips everyone thanks!
What I like to do is not actually plan ahead but right now while I am still stuck at home, I am favoriting all the albergues, museums and other interesting places I would be interested to sleep/eat/see/do. So when I want to stop for the day, all I have to do is...
That’s frustrating!
I stuck mine on with E6000 glue and for now it looks good! But havent used my backpack yet so will have to see how well they stay on..
I love my Sea to Summit TR1. Its a lightweight down sleeping bag that you can unzip completely to create a normal duvet/blanket/quilt. I combine this with a silk liner.
I do love some sightseeing.
For example, I loved Puente de la Reina. Such a beautiful medieval village, loved lounging under the bridge.
I will put Fromista on the list, thanks!
Hi everyone! I am soon continuing my camino in Logroño and will walk until Leon.
I would like to walk most without reserving anything but are there any Brierley stages in your opinion that are a must to stop overnight? Might consider reserving a day or two before in that case.
For now I think...
