I'm leaving tomorrow for the Sanabres!

Buen camino! I'm just leaving the albergue in Granja to start the Sanabres after walking from Zamora. Weather pretty good - cold in mornings and evenings, warm and sunny in the afternoon. And the wildflowers are amazing! Quite a lot of people walking (for this route) at the moment.

Is it permissible to skip Sarria to Santiago?

Well, maybe...maybe it's time to try it? Not always crowded, noisy.... and it is beautiful...and can be wonderful. (I don't do the compostela thing either).

The one thing I should have done before I left for the Camino

I'm not going to read this thread anymore - it's making me feel extremely anxious 😫 🤣

And would they transport your luggage? Also asking for a friend...

    T-11 Days

There is enough time to visit Italica on the first stage. Not on a Monday, though, as it's closed. Buen camino.

    Tattoo

I really like Sagrado Corazón in Rua Nova. I had a tattoo done there in October last year and prices started from 70 euros. I would definitely go back to them. (They speak English).

    Sanabres "Glitch"

I'm starting from Zamora on 16 April. This will be my second time walking this camino. Hopefully we may meet at some stage. Buen Camino!

What would you change about the CF - if you could?

I wouldn't change anything. It's all good - including the 'bad' bits.

The BEST Videos showing the Camino I've ever watched!

I watched as well as he walked the Camino. Thought his videos were lovely - calm, informative, very, very good.

¨I am human bedbug bait¨ article in the Guardian

Also, it helps to wash the bites with soap (any) and water.

¨I am human bedbug bait¨ article in the Guardian

I always take some antihistamine tablets (just the sort you get from the pharmacy). They really help to take away the itch and inflammation.

¨I am human bedbug bait¨ article in the Guardian

I would do that for a reasonable fee. After all, I've been doing it for nothing on the camino for years 😒 🙃.

Is the Camino too crowded now?

So, to get back to the Camino Frances crowded issue. I walked from St Jean to Burgos starting on 6th October this year. I've walked at this time of year before - but this time I thought there were so many more people. So many more taking the options for baggage transport, walking in groups...

    Bed bugs in El Acebo!

Yes, for me the itching and the bites appear immediately. I'm walking at the moment and twice in different albergues the itching has wakened me up and I've seen the bed-bugs scuttling away. So two almost sleepless nights spent sitting in albergue kitchens.

History/Interesting things to see on the Sanabres?

You'll be going through wolf country. Chances of seeing any small, but still...just to know that they're there....buen camino

    Altus products in forum store?

I bought an Altus sleeping bag in Estella just a few days ago. It is so light. And tiny in it's little bag. Love it. Not cheap but I haven't seen anything similar for sale in Ireland/UK.

What to do? Carrion to Sahagún

I've walked from Carrion to Sahagun. I didn't have a strategy, though, it just sort of happened. But what I remember is that I took my time - plenty of little rests, coffees, watching storks trail a tractor etc. And it was good. In my diary for that day I wrote "met my best self out on the...

LIVE from the Camino Camino Madrid - Starting September 2023

I think it's a Party Town. When I was there a few years ago the whole town seemed to be on the beer. There was a bull running (not expressing my feelings about this) and the party was still going on when I left the next morning.

Guillena - municipal albergue still closed?

I'll be through there in three weeks time and I'll report back!

Is the Coastal Camino Route Safer from Aggressive Dogs?

When I walked from Lisbon a few years ago I also found the dogs a bit too fiesty for comfort. Not working dogs, the problem mutts were people's pets which would come hurtling out of driveways to have a nip. Once a whole pack of various shapes and sizes raced down a very long lane way to have a...
