Wishing you the very best of luck! So sorry to hear of the bone mets. You are definitely an inspiration and motivating me to complete the Frances from Burgos in September - despite the back and joint pain from hormone blockers. Yes, shorter stages and baggage transfer may be necessary, but...
I really really prefer to carry my pack, but desperately trying to heal a torn posterior tibial tendon (ankle) before my next camino and thinking maybe luggage transfer may help prevent re-injury 🤞
Hi, we start walking on the 9th from SJPDP, we are only going as far at La Vierge on Sunday, then getting the mountain shuttle back as we have 2 nts in SJPDP. Will then continue on Monday :)
Bit of a cloudy day for my 2 hour walk to the lookout at Point Upright (Durras, NSW, Australia).
Tracks are a bit soggy due to recent rains but still a lovely walk and good practice for my October Camino.
I had to go aluminum free due to radiation treatment and No Pong was recommended. Comes in a great little travel tin and works a treat. It is an Australian brand but they have a website. No Pong
Thanks for this thread. After having to cancel our 2020 Camino due to COVID and being locked in Oz ever since, I have now been diagnosed with breast cancer. I have just recovered from lumpectomy and just as they are about to let us out of the country, I start chemo. It’s a bummer that I...
I love this book. I bought both the hard copy for reference and planning and the eBook for walking. The accommodation, food and wine information is fabulous. Was so looking forward to using it in September…but unable leave Australia for a while unfortunately…hopefully will put it to good use...
My memory is not so great from 2016 but judging by my photos (which are some sort of chronologic order) Livenhac was a morning coffee stop when walking between Decazeville and Felzins….so 4kms after Deczeville sounds right. My fuzzy memory recalls we were there quite early and not much open :)
Ah yes of course, church of Notre-Dame de Decazeville…sorry for the gaffe…taking a quick peek at the forum during a tea break at work not paying attention. None the less, the paintings by Gustave Moreau in the church were well worth the stop. The tourist office was very enthusiastic wanting to...
I love the planning and pondering over maps, books, internet. We booked every night on our Le Puy route before we left Australia and luggage transfer as well. So all we had to do when we left our front door was go on a "ride". I like to do all the "work" before I go so that I can relax and just...
Haven't stayed at either. We stayed at nice guest house in 2016. Looks like it has changed hands in 2018 but another option for you :) http://letape-saugues.com
