I use binder clips for tons of the things around the house for sure ! Yet on the Camino I use them as clothes pegs. Super light and hardly take up any space ! Many years ago a fellow Korean pilgrim taught me that trick on the VdlP!
This is exactly what I do. Easier to cut with scissors and reinforce edges with scotch/cello tape. super light and water/sweat proof as store in zipped leg pocket.
Salut! I might be too late in responding! Perhaps for your next Camino you could fly Air Transat but choose the multi destination tab. I have booked this from Toronto - Lisbon, Madrid -Toronto. with A.Transat and it was not expensive. I have also booked AT from Toronto - Madrid, Porto -...
Hi Rebekah, it's a common term for wilderness backpacking.... and usually includes a sleeping mat/pad as well. However, I do not bring my sleeping system on the Camino as have another set of more casual gear.
Merry Christmas to you and your family ! Thanks a million for all that you do - what would we do without you ?! You are absolutely invaluable to pilgrims far and wide.
God bless and all the very best to you in 2024.
Cheers
Mary
Beautiful photos Luka ! Enjoy every step and what a wonderful gift to yourself to walk a camino over Christmas. Merry/ Happy Christmas to you fellow peregrina.
I stayed at Casa Violeta a few weeks ago and it is fabulous. I absolutely loved staying there and in fact stayed 2 nights. Violeta and Pepe are incredibly kind people ! They provided me with lots of wood for the fireplace and visited their farm. Super people and gorgeous house. The...
Have flown TAP many times from Toronto, Canada to Lisbon, Porto, Malaga, Madrid, Milan and have never had an issue. Not really a budget airline but they frequently have seat sales from NA. All flights on time. Great food onboard BUT not always a wide bodied ie : 3 seats, aisle, 3 seats. Many...
MOST women do NOT report this and as a male you have little idea !!! NOT an opinion it's from dreadful experiences on several Caminos mostly in Portugal ! This will not prevent from me going to Portugal. I find the Portuguese to be incredibly kind people especially the women !
So sorry to hear this ! To be honest, I am not surprised. It has happened to me on 60 % of the Caminos I have walked in Spain and more so in Portugal.
I really believe it has become normalized. Yet having said this, I am now always on the lookout in quiet areas with camera and poles in...
Porto hands down as flown several times from there to Toronto. The airport is small (I love small airports) compared to the massive 4 Terminals in Madrid. The airport in Porto is also new, spacious and airy and have never encountered crowds.
If you are the one with all the experience, the reality is -- you will have to go through her pack. I have done this many a time with friends who I have guided on wilderness backpacking trips on Van island, BC interior and the Alberta Rockies. They didn't like it at the time but thanked me...
Thank you ! Yes it has ! Oh my I would love to walk the Mozarabe again from Almeria. So far my favourite is -- to Granada. I walked from Malaga last October and loved it although endless olive groves and VERY hot indeed !
A friend wants me to join her in northern Italy at the end of the month...
