    Yes, I booked a flight to Lyon. I arrive there at 11pm, so I guess that I will overnight there and then bus or train to Le Puy and then start walking!

    Thanks for the reply. It amused me that you wrote about hurling myself off the path because that is how this crazy fear manifests for me - I'm afraid of leaping/hurling/stepping off ... and yes, you are right about how overgrowth masks (and cushions!) precipitousness.

    Don't know if anyone is still responding to this thread but I am looking at starting it at the end of June. Am I crazy? I did both the Frances and the Portuguese in July/August and just started my days early to avoid the hottest hours of the day. Any thoughts?
