    Route advice for Newbie

Your stages seem very reasonable. I walked a similar route as you last year (except the Spiritual). I loved that Camino <3 I started with two night in Porto, where I walked and then took the metro back, and than the bus out to start walking again. That way I got a slow start without my backpack...

    Night Hikes / Star Gazing

A couple of years ago I came to the albergue in Villar de Mazarife and was informed by my fellow pilgrims that they planned to start walking around 4 o'clock to walk in the lunar eclipse. The whole room decided to join in (except one other pilgrim). We tried to be quiet, but we were not... I...

Even Better than store bought Hikers Wool

I forgot what day it is :-D You had me going. But ok, I ordered hikers wool from New Zealand last time... Living in Norway, a sheep country, i found that really stupid. Soooo, I went on a hunt for local fiber artists/spinners. And law and behold, for a fraction of the price I got a bag of clean...

    Camino Start decision

After two partial Camino Frances (SJPDP to Logrono and Logrono to Castrojeritz) my third I was determined to end in Santiago. It was so hard saying goodbye to people knowing they are continuing toward Santiago and i was going home. So, I totally agree with trecile about the feeling of entering...

    Rough In Planning Support

I looove planning! Its part of the experience for me. On my first Camino I was stressed about keeping to the plan - "what will I do if it does not work". The camino had a couple of lessons for me, one of them being that my plans dont work. My body behaves different from day to day etc. So now...

Which route between Caminha and Tui?

I walked the river ecopista and split it in two days staying in Vila Nova de Cerveira (got a stamp at the library 😍 ). It was a lovely walk. A lot of shade and nice totally flat path. But boring, and nothing open along the route. I was even contemplating renting a bike and biking Caminha to Tui :p

On the Camino: One Day at a Time, one Photo at a Time 11.0

Sunset above Porto before the start of my last Camino. PS! A tip, just after you get over the Luis I bridge (if you cross it on the bottom "floor") you can use an elevator inside the parking garage to the top of the hill to Jardim do Morro park, where a lot of people gather to watch the sunset...

    Hostels in Porto

Not far - Google says 15 minutes walk. But I remember the hill up to the Cathedral being steep 🙃 But everything close to the river would give you a steep walk to the Cathedral.

    Tattoo

Two years ago i used Sagrado corazon tattoo. I am really happy with the service! But it felt a little bit like I was getting a cattle stamp :-D I was there in september and part of a steady line of pilgrims getting shell-tattoos. I love mine, its not that, but this time I am planning something...
