Hmmm
Getting them dry might be a problem.
I have Keen hiking boots.
They keep the wet out. They also support my ankles. But I am an old codger.
Your trail shoes would be much lighter.

I have just reached Guemes
Weather has been good today.
Sunny and mild. But I have had rain from Deba to Portugalete. There is more rain on the way. Track can be pretty muddy. It makes the descents pretty treacherous. Bring good wet weather gear.

It is day 2 on the Norte
24c and just beautiful in getaria
The Camino is well marked and the walk along the coast is spectacular
Most pilgrims are locals but there have been a few other nationalities
Knees and feet are sore
A medicinal cold beer should fix that
Buen Camino
I am leaving San sebastian on 22 April. My daughter is going to walk with me for the first week. I am planning to arrive in SdC on 31st May. You should be okay in 5 weeks.
You can organise transport before you go. Contact Wyktoria at Camino Travel center. Check their website. I have used them for both Camino Frances and Portugues. Very Good.
I hope your surgery goes well. Porto to Santiago de Compostela is a very worthwhile experience. Bom Camino
I will be leaving from San Sebastian on 22 April. My daughter is walking with me for a week until Bilbao. I plan to take the Camino Primitivo after Villavicosia. I walked the Camino Frances in 2014 and the Camino Portugues last year. I am sure that this will not be as crowded as the Camino...
Stick with it Brother. I did Lisbon to SDC last May and June. The first few days are the worst. It improves after Tomar. I know the distances in the first week nearly beat me. I know your pain. We are with you. Larry Terrance
There is a bus service from Panplona to SJPP. It's about an hour and a bit. You can book online. You can get from Pamplona station to the bus terminal on a local bus. Just follow everyone who has a backpack. There will be plenty. Buen Camino.
Nath. I have walked the Camino Frances and Portugues last year. I am 68 and have done a fair bit of trekking in Nepal, PNG, Borneo and China and central Australia. Mate, if you have walked to Base Camp or Annapurna, there is not much in the way of hills on the Camino that will worry you. I am up...
I am planning to walk the Camino Norte around late April and May. From what I can see, there are four 30km days. I completed the Camino Portugues last year and the distances on this walk should not be a problem. There were several 30 plus km days between Lisbon and Porto. I am going to swing...
