Sleeping sac - I'm looking for the lightest

I'm looking for suggestions on the lightest sleep "sac" I can use on the Camino. 1. I never get cold at night (if cold, I wear extra clothes). 2. I never walk the Camino in winter. 3. Right now, I use a flannel sheet folded in half and sewn at the bottom and even that is too heavy. Any...

Exploring Route Variants on the Camino Frances: Natural and Historical Highlights

Even though I missed the turn off, I took a very minor road to it and it’s VERY much worth it. A must path in my opinion - walk though this beautiful red stoned village. It may add 1 km to your walk.

Camino Madrid or Invierno in April?

I saw your YouTube video before I went and that encouraged me to try that route. Now I’m planning the Madrid camino again in spring 2022.

help, i booked up to stage 4 but can’t find a place to stay now — Camino de Madrid

Stay the course. I have walked the Camino Madrid and loved it. It was quiet and very peaceful. I do not speak Spanish and I had no problem getting hostels along the way. I also booked places up to Segovia. The rest of the way, hostels should be easy to get. My plan is to again walk the Camino...

Keep us informed about anything unusual re: COVID-19 issues you see. I want to walk that route in September but I have not purchased an airline ticket yet. Thanks!

Starting from Madrid - where would you go through?

Spring is perhaps better because of all the wildflowers. I didn’t meet many pilgrims and that was good for me - lots of time for reflection.

Starting from Madrid - where would you go through?

I did the Madrid Camino in May 2019 and loved it. (See my YouTube video). If I do it again (and I plan to) I would continue to Leon and do the San Salvador/Primitivo routes. I would also recommend staying in downtown Madrid an extra night. I walked to the edge of the city and took the subway...

I am planning this route in September as well. I am fully vaccinated but have not bought airline tickets yet. Is it safe to assume all will be ok for North Americans to travel to Portugal and Spain?

    Starting CF September 1, 2021

I’m from the Peg as well and have done this route 3 times. I always book my flight to Paris and take the train to SJPP. The train leaves Paris by noon and arrives in SJPP by 7:30 that night. That allows me to sleep on the train. Then after the walk, I fly from Santiago back to Winnipeg...

    A collection of Camino videos

Hello David. I have a video on YouTube about my Camino Madrid pilgrimage (May 2019). It's 26 minutes long.

    Camino de Madrid Handbook

I hope you get the chance to walk this route. I walked it in May 2019 and really enjoyed it. I met very few fellow pilgrims along the way so it can be a bit lonely at times, but I enjoyed the peaceful walks each day. One thing you may consider is to walk to the edge of Madrid and take the subway...

    Camino de Madrid April 2020

My short answer is - it depends. The Camino de Madrid has fewer walkers and I personally liked it that way. When I walked it last May, I only encountered 5 other pilgrims along the way. If you like lots of people interaction, choose a route accordingly.

My (leisurely) stages on the Camino de Madrid

Thank you for watching. I tried to show what things you see while walking this route. I want to walk it again.

I’ve watched your YouTube video as well. It gave me the idea of walking this route.
