My wife and I just booked our train tickets from Madrid to PAMPLONA for April 3rd. First train out is around 7:30am, arriving at 10:38. We also booked the bus for the same day to SJPDP leaving at 2:30pm and arriving at 4:15pm. The train is only 17 euros and the bus is 22 euros. Renfe.es for the...
Yes, we're planning on taking a train from Madrid at 7:30am arriving in Pamplona around 11:15. The bus station is on the other side of town but a nice walk or taxi ride. You can then take the 2:30pm bus to SJPDP.
Historically, I believe that the last bus leaves Pamplona at 5:30 in August with the first one out the next morning at 10am. Check out this link: http://www.conda.es/eventos.php?tipo=3&id=438
Dave, that Conda site does not list St. Jean PDP as a destination for their trips to France from Spain. I'll just have to continue trying as the date approaches.
Iriebabel, thank you for the reply. I did check out the Conda website also before posting the thread but was unable to buy tickets using the links provided. I guess I'll keep on trying.....
Thank you for the reply. I like the rometorio page also and have used it extensively before. I tried it before posting this thread but they are unable to find any tickets either. I travelled this route before so I know where the bus station is located.
My wife and I will be travelling in early April from Pamplona to St. Jean PDP. I have contacted Alsa for their bus schedule for April but they are saying that they do not make this journey. I know that do not make this journey at this time(winter) but I did tell them that I wanted to travel in...
I see on their website that they say that sleeping bags are necessary. I will be going in early April and do not really wan t to carry one, especially over the mountains! I think I read somewhere that the albergue does sell backpacks. Can anyone confirm this with details? Gracias!
Washing macines for laundry seem to be ever more prevalent in a albergues along the Camino Frances these days. Are pilgrims carrying laundry detergent or is it provided for the price of renting the machine?
If one uses the Spanish Correos for backpack delivery between towns, does one have to take it to the Post Office or do they pick it up from the albergue?
I live high up in the Andes at 8,300' (about 2,500 meters). I am wondering if my training for the Camino would be enhanced(greatly?, mildly?) by my altitude. Probably couldn't hurt but I'm hoping for a nice edge over sea level training. Any thoughts?
As pointed out, citizens of the USA are Americans but so are Canadians, Mexicans, etc. As a resident of Ecuador I have found that the Ecuadorians are proud to be Americans also. Therefore my wife has come up with a phrase that she hopes will become common to clear up any doubt. If asked, she...
