My wife and me were using Black Diamond ultralight carbon folding poles for last three Camino. It is very light and had no issue of TSA or even some albergues where ask to leave poles at the entrance.
I strongly recommend OsmAND. You can download 7 maps for free and you never lost with this app. Even you can find what you want like market, tourism place, and so on. It is offline map based app, so no need connection. Also you can use this app as a navigator when you driving.
Hi dear, My wife and me will walk CF again in May. After finish the Camino, we have a plan to visit Morocco this time. So, I'd like to pack useless items like trekking pole, sleeping bas, etc. and send it to Barcelona. Because we will return to Barcelona from Morocco and leave next day. Here are...
Hi dear, welcome to Camino! My wife and me will start May 15 from SJPdP. I guess we may meet on the camino because last 3 times, we usually took 27 days. I wish we can say Hola~ Buen Camino someday.
I walked CF 3 times and will go 2020 again. Fortunately I never had any blister or black toe, so far. Over the all above suggestion, I'd like add one more tip. You need to adjust the tightness of your shoes from time to time when you walk long day depends on the terrain. I saw lots of people...
Actually I used Black Diamond Ultra Distance Trekking Pole for my 3 times Camino, and will bring it again next year. It is super light(about 10oz/pair) and can fold and put inside backpack. But I think it is no more available. The similar one is Black Diamond distance Z trekking pole. Not FLZ...
I did similar way. I put every valuable things in small bag and put the bag inside of my sleeping bag. So far so good. But there is no absolute solution~
I walked three times of CF, All of those, it took 27 days from SJPdP to Santiago. I lost 20, 15, 20 pound even I ate well & drink well. I'm middle 50's with 5'10". But the funny thing was my wife lose not even one pound. She always walked with me, ate & drank with me... Hmm
Those are not must have items but recommend those to have. If you arrive early enough, you can use clothline that the most of albergues have. But arrive late, there may not enough space for you. Also, in rainy day, you may need it to hang your clothes inside ablergue or around your bed. Clothes...
Absolutely, one pair enough. I recommend waterproof, at least mid high boots, and 1~2 bigger size(Your boots size is needed comfortable enough after 10 hour flight ^^;). It will help toe nail damage or blister. Also, please don't forget to tighten ankle part when you go down hill.
Never had any problem to find ATM. Only one thing to be careful is when you use the ATM of BANKIA. If you make any mistake to key in, ATM machine eat your card. During business hour, it is no problem, but after hour or weekend, you have to wait until bank is open or give up your card.
Here are some my opinions.
1. Yes, SJPdp to Roncesvalles is hard stage but I’m sure it is not harder than what you expect. The first part, from SJPdp to Refuge Orisson, is little bit stiff. After that, yes, it is uphill but not that stiff. I agree others who said it is hard because it is a...
