    To Poncho or Not Poncho...

soooo Many options that depend on your actual anxiety/comfort with long distance trekking and experience. For me in summer, I carry a Bag Cover ~ and merely Truck On In the rain. Later, I change in to dry tops whenever I stop. My experience is that while actively hiking, I generate so much heat...

    Too old?

Wow! Can Relate to your concern. My first Camino was 2013, too. On that Way, I one night shared the communal room with an 82 YO gent who used the handle, “Cimarron”. He’d already hiked most everywhere. He was slowing down by that time and we fellow hopefuls, had to remind him several times about...

Suggestions where to start. Le Puy or Geneva

First, I do not know the Camino from Geneva. Yet by beginning in Cluny, perhaps the most historic former Benedictine House in Europe, you add 15 - 17 days to the Le Pui - SJPdP Chemin. Cluny is a town worth a couple of days exploration. As you’ll be in low mountains quite a bit, beginning later...

Clean, new mayor managed village Gîtes most of the way; a night or two in a Chateau. A very unused and memorable Chemin...

    Questions about Le Puy

No problem feeling left out in the evenings on the Le Puys Camino. In autumn 2014 I experienced only one night where I felt a little left out; I had somehow stopped at a Gîte where I was the only Anglophile surrounded by a german speaking group!)). But, after a bit of wine and food, we seemed to...

    Questions about Le Puy

Just your mention of this fantastic Gîte jumps my memories with happy internal videos. I agree that Vincent's accueil is too unique to miss for most pèlerins. The communal meal of fresh organic veggies, collectively made baked lasagna and the laughter, would be a BIG miss. Arrive early!
