Don't forget ribbon on shoes. I walked with a man that his shoes shrunk on him. At the end of the day he found out his shoes on a pilgrim that his shoes were too big. Funny for us but not for my friend. Other man's wife had ribbon and put it on his shoes. Same brand and same style.
Be a Texan and everyone that you see along the walk say " how are you doing" and don't forget to wave to everyone. Buenos dias, Buenas tardes. You might annoy some but most people will be happy you ask.
Forget the ice cream (can't have it) bring on the melons. I was lucky and was given slices of melon instead. To me they were better than American melons. The other walkers saw they got the short end of the deal.
Enjoy as I have, I completed 30 and a half years with US Govt and I knew it was time. So now on Aug 25 I fly out to Paris and then south to start my Camino. Haven't looked back one day.. Que Dios Te Bendiga..
