Yay! I am planning my Camino for 2025!

Best wishes not only for the Camino in May 2025, but also for the preparation/training! I found the anticipation really fun as I got equipped and started walking long distances. The first week of my Camino took care of any romantic view I had, but the following weeks delivered beyond my...

Returning to CF after 6 years, anything new I must take into account?

Well, don't know how old you are, but, to state the obvious, you are 6 years older....just sayin' when it comes to taking things into account... :-)

COVID 8 days left of Camino Frances and too sick to walk

Yes, risking your health and the one of others. Not a good idea to take public transportation if you are sick with COVID.

Help me pick my pack! :)

If you are in the USA, you've got to check out Gossamer Gear Ultralight Backpack! I believe you can only order online. I got mine several years ago. Great quality and really ultralight.

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD French Vaccine Passport - February 2022

Hi All, I was in Paris last week. Arrived on a Sunday. Got to the hotel and asked; they directed me to a pharmacy nearby that is opened 7/7 until 23:00 each night. Got there; they asked for my passport (I am Canadian) and the canadian vaccine record; within about 5 minutes, I got a printed...

French Camino movie - Saint Jacques la Mecque

Very good movie! It is part comedy, part drama. Although I also enjoyed The Way (I like Sheen a lot as an actor and as a human being), my favorite is by far the French movie St-Jacques La Mecque.

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Covid test from Canada

I am not a lab person, but as an epidemiologist, I deal with diagnostic tests frequently. PCR is normally very sensitive, but also very specific (less chance of a false positive); the rapid antigen test, depending on the lab, can be very sensitive...in fact, so sensitive that it is not very...

    Which hat looks better?

I agree with all the comments regarding practicality on the Camino....You look better with A, but you seem happier with B

    Your favorite camino hat!

You can see that Tilley is a name shared in several posts. The quality is exceptional. They produce some for hot weather; in fact, canadian troops had them during the first Gulf war. You get what you pay for, and in this case, they are worth every penny (full disclosure: I am Canadian...but not...

arcteryx aerios 30 pack.. anyone try?

I agree with Anhalter; I have a Gossamer Gorilla 50 Ultralight backpack (479 gr); I love it! You should check out Gossamer products. They are not cheap, but the same can be said about Arc’teryx. In both cases, you probably get what you pay for.

    Blister Treatment Strategies

Hi All, first post to let you know that the most recent edition of Jon Vonhof's book "Fixing your Feet, Injury Prevention and Treatments for Athletes" is coming out in August of this year. Cheers. Jean-Pierre
