    good resting spot en route?

Hi, Ponte de Lima is great but if you can push further I would stay an extra day in either Valença/Tui or pontevedra

    Wises or Brierley

Hey. having used the briely guide on your CF, if you like the format then the CP version will suit you. I’m on the trail at the moment, about to come into Valença (started from Lisbon) and the book has given me all the info Ive needed. It’s always good to have the wise pilgrim app and there is...

Albergue in Rates not friendly towards luggage transfer

Hi, which route did they take out of Porto? If they were struggling enough to order luggage transfer along the route, why not cut the day short instead of going 22miles to rates! Jon

How much money should I carry?

I’ve replied to the OP but I think it’s unnecessary to have that much cash on you!

How much money should I carry?

Hey, congratulations on doing your first Camino. It’s so much fun But From my experience of walking the CP I wouldn’t carry the amount your thinking of. Not because Portugal or Galicia are dangerous but 300-500€ is a lot to have on you at any one time! Regardless of wether your doing a Camino...

15 days on the Camino Portugues

Is it too late to change my plans? Part coast/inland

Hi, From valenca You can also do the espirtual variant which starts in pontevedra and spends some time by the coast. There is great swimming in Vilanova de arousa, It finishes in padron and rejoins the main route to Santiago. Whatever you decide, have a great time

    Coastal vs Inland

Hi Anton, The best route out of Porto is to keep the river on your left and follow it to the ocean, then keep that on your left and pretty soon you’ll see the arrows. I’ve done the CP and wanted a mix of inland and coast so I walked Porto to Vila do conde, from there took the inland route to...

    Porto Start Options

You can get a credential from the cathedral for 2€ and then my suggestion would be to go the river and then head to the ocean. Keep that on your left side and you’ll get to Vila do conde. From there you can decide wether to follow the ocean or the guidebook. It’s an awesome walk, the ocean, sun...

Has anyone walked the Portuguese Camino?

It’s your choice of words, using things like “hated” and “horrible” in your first post aren’t going to make you any friends. Sure, everyone has opinions, it’s great to express them and that’s what this forum is for. In this instance, it would’ve been better to express them to your family and...

Has anyone walked the Portuguese Camino?

This reply really annoys me. People whine and complain constantly about the cobblestones and the road walking. You would’ve know they where there, so why did you do it in the first place!!! I live in Portugal im in getting really tired of people complaining and comparing the route the CF, they...
