    First time Camino

congratulations on your decision to do this. I received a great tip that I saw few have but found it very useful and that is a sink rubber stopper (flat) . you will have many sinks to wash clothes, etc but few have stoppers so it comes in very handy. Buen Camino

St Jean to Roncesvalles in a day, or stop at Orisson?

I did the Camino last August and stopped at Orrisson and I am very glad I did after experiencing what comes at you on the second day. I am 66 and I think I could have done the trek all the way to Roncevalles however I would have ruined the trip right out of the box. I met some wonderful people...

St Jean to Roncesvalles in a day, or stop at Orisson?

I broke it up into two days with a stop in Orisson and am so thankful that I did. I would not be able to do the full 30K in one day, two days nearly broke me (particularly) the second day. If you do try to do it in one day , you should leave very early because you will be making the descent...

Observations after Completing the Camino Frances

I did the Camino for the first time this year in August and I had an amazing experience including the challenges. The country was beautiful , the peregrinos that I met were great , some weird but nice. I did NOT find the Spanish people very nice towards pilgrims though, that was very...

    Pre-Camino Syndrome

I am having the same thing. I leave 8/14 and I thought I was rational as well. However, I can't stop thinking of the trip. I definitely am trying to have no expectations and have been training for some months with a full backpack but I have changed my mind on various things to bring or not...

    Hotels vs Albergues

Is there a book listing all of the hotels and Refugios with phone numbers and/or email? I have the John Brierley guide book but I am looking for something that reflects all the hotels and Refugios not just some random ones
