What else I thought about is the frequency of places where to get some water. Especially, as the first day will be 20km without any services until Campobecerros, are there any fountains on that part?
Hello fellow pilgrims,
I've planned a camino for my family (incl. my 2-year-old son) and for the start we will arrive in SdC on September 3rd.
I was thinking about getting a train from SdC to A Gudiña via Ourense and now I see that part of the trains are sold out already. Does anyone have...
Great! Thank you very much! Funny enough, I have planned it like that, though just looking at the distances. Now I know, that this is a good choice for other ascpects, too!
Since I now have heard that we might be not allowed to stay at certain places with our 2 year old, I wanted to ask you about your experiences.
Have you been staying in albergues mostly or where have you spent the nights?
Should I expect some difficulties with that?
Edit: Ok, in terms of numbers the statistics for September 2022 looks really relaxed with <600 arrivals from Ourense.
Thanks again for the recommendations! I now have my vacation time set. It'll be between the 2. of September for three weeks. I'm still struggling to make up my mind about which Camino to take. I definitely want to spend time in Spain. Though I would like spend some time in France too, I'm no...
Thank you for that suggestion, I would prefere a camino in Spain or (if I really cannot get a Comostela for our boy) France, as I do feel more comfortable with the languages. :)
Oh, really? If so, then we wouldn't be limited to the last kms of the Camino and language wise we could look for something in France or Spain to feel like home and have nicer weather than here in Germany. :)
Hello fellow pilgrims,
I am really longing to walk a Camino again. I met my wife five years ago on the Camino and we promised ourselves that we would make a pilgrimage with our children, too.
Our son is turning two soon and I am thinking about a route for our first pilgrimage as a family. After...
Hehe, yeah. I've played that ultimate game with my niece on the Camino Portugues back in 2017, but she was 12 at that time, so it was a different situation.
Thanks a lot!
Thank you! How about the kids' motivation? Was it getting better with time or did it decline?
Personally, I would love to walk longer than a week to get into the groove and hope it's not getting to boring for the kids.
What a timing! Great ressource for information and inspiration. Thank you so much!
My wife is from Latvia, as you are, and I met her on one of our Caminos. Now I am planning to do one of the Caminos together with our son, who is soon two years old, at some point later this year.
I will let my...
Everything is booked, now. We'll start on Sep. 29th and if the weather will allow it, we'll do the Saiatz variant. I am soooo looking forward! Can't wait! Thank you all for the feedback! :)
Thank you @VNwalking! Yes, I already consumed this thread joyfully. I was wandering if you have taken any alternatives or if you would recommend to take any known alternatives, especially, e.g. your second stage on mostly asphalt and concrete. I suppose the suppose one needs to pay attention on...
Hello dear pilgrims,
I'm planing to do a combination of a couple of caminos (and parts of them) and though I do have quite a detailed plan on where to walk, I would like to get some feedback prior to the walk and maybe adjust my plans. I'm walking with my fiancee (who I met on our latest...
Yes, totally Bendueños (last year, 2017)! Pajares (2016) is nice too, but as mentioned above, it's probably to close to visit both.
Mieres (2016) and La Robla (2016) were nothing special and in Buiza (2017) I had a night on my own and it was quite similar to the last two.
Hi Canuck! How many fields for the stamps are there in the lebaniego credentials? Would you be willing to sell it to me and could you send id to the US as I'm here for another two weeks before I return back to Germany and the Camino is calling very loudly already!
Cheers,
Denis
