OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Got French Health Pass after arriving in Paris from USA

Short answer is online form works if filled out properly. It also has a way for you to message your examiner. I had home address instead of destination address. Changed that online once we got to Paris and messaged the examiner that I had made a change and needed the pass immediately to get on...

Moon Camino de Santiago - new guide, in my opinion, by far the best out there

I just finished reading this (a free review copy sent to Susan). It is really good. A guidebook with a huge amount of additional detail that you want to know. Beautiful, full color book with good layout and photos. Only problem is that it weighs 1 pound. I still think it is the one every novice...

A Basque themed movie gives a sense of Spain

Walking the Norte made us realize that Spain is a collection of quite a few culturally different regions, Basque country, Cantabria, Asturias, Galicia and more. We just watched a movie last night that emphasized these differences. A romantic comedy that gave us some insight into the sense of...

Camino del Norte images from the trail - now viewable in all countries

My first attempt had a music licensing problem. This one should be better. I tried to capture the feel of the walk in a 140 image video. Hope it works for you.

Norte trip report fall and spring 2015 - assorted facts

In May June we walked from Irun to Bilbao, and in Sept-Oct from Bilbao to Vilalba. I did a long blog post on the trip, and am summarizing here. First, we were hiking with injuries, so about 23 km was about our limit for a stage, and less was much better. We are quite experienced with Camino...

Pilgrim Etiquette - How about picking up some trash every walking day

We have a whole set behavior conventions in the refugios. How about adding one for the trail so that Rebekah does not have to deal with quite as much pilgrim trail trash? http://moratinoslife.blogspot.com/2013/12/a-ditch-pig-anthem.html

Is there a spainsim.com equivalent for France or Europe>

Syl recommended Spainsim.com for data plans for Spain, but I am looking for data sim plans for France or multiple European countries. Is there a similar service to Spainsim? Thanks

Trip Report on Arles route 2008

We just got back from 17 days on the Arles route. Had to stop just short of Toulouse to get our plane home. Summary - Starts flat, long days and not too interesting, but after Montpellier, some true mountain trails, great views, and quite a bit more rugged than the Le Puy route. Most days no...

Walked from Roncesvalles, now doing sections from Le Puy

We walked from Roncesvalles to Santiago in Sept-Oct 2001, now working our way south in sections from Le Puy. Le Puy to Figeac 2 yrs ago, Figeac to Aire-Sur... last fall, this year plan to do Aire to at least Roncesvalles, and then Leon to Ponferrada (had to bus that section in 2001 due to 9/11).
