    What clothes in October?

I'm going to be walking the cf from Sarria to Santiago starting October 5th. I'm also staying in Galicia for the rest of the month of October and will mail some extra things to Ivar. I tend to overheat easily and would rather be a little chilly than too hot. I was thinking of bringing mostly...

do people bring gifts to give to other pilgrims?

When I travel I usually bring along some small gifts -- for people I meet as I travel and become friends with or who help me in some way. Do people do this on the camino and if so what are some things that would be appreciated? Buen camino all! Kati

    El Camino trash

I was planning on bringing with me a folding 'grabber' thing and picking up trash as I walk along. It weighs a few ounces and I figure maybe I can do some good while I'm slowly plodding along.

    Sarria Blues

(Did not mean to hijack the thread, sorry) Yes, me too! I much prefer to be without them honestly. There are situations they're necessary though.

    Sarria Blues

Thank you! I'm sure that I will love the Camino. Oftentimes I prefer to be without my hearing aids. They are so annoying in noisy situations. Luckily I read lips quite well so often I just turn them off.

    Sarria Blues

I chose it on the advice of quite a few people and also several guidebooks and just from a lot of reading that I did myself but I have second-guessed myself a lot on it. I first walked the Way in Pamplona ( was there in March with a tour group and we walked a km or so of it, probably), and I...

    Sarria Blues

This is discouraging to me, because I'm only going from Sarria to Santiago (I have fibromyalgia and walking is legit difficult and painful for me (use a cane in daily life) and I'm also deaf so I decided to do this shorter portion first to see if I can do it and then if possible do the rest...

I loved the Basque country so much; that's definitely what I'm going to do for at least part of the time. Thanks everyone for the recommendations!

Help with booking casa morgade Please.

I want to stay at casa morgade October 5 and their website says they only accept phone calls. I'm deaf. Does anyone know an alternative contact method or would someone be able to make that call for me?

10 extra days in Spain -- what to do?

So I'm going from Sarria to Santiago, starting October 5th and ending October 17th, my birthday. (I know that's very short days, but I'm very slow (chronically ill with pain issues) so I want to give myself plenty of time). I've gone ahead and booked about half my albergues and I'm going to wing...

Hey guys, I've got an Osprey Farpoint 55 that fits well and doesn't hurt to carry at least as far as I've carried it so far. But I've seen a lot of people who are taking much smaller bags - - Do i need to get a different backpack even tho this one I have seems good? I'm not going to pack it...

Thank you everyone for all your advice and help. It's greatly appreciated! Now I need to do some more reading up / research on the Camino itself, buy a few supplies and then just make my travel arrangements to get there, it looks like. Thank you again!

    Multiple disabilities?

Hello everyone! I would like to walk the Camino Frances from Sarria to Santiago, and I wondered if anyone had any input on my situation. I'm deaf (hearing a little with hearing aids). Will I be able to communicate? I read lips very well, I speak mostly normally and do know a fair amount of...
