Planning my fifth Camino (this one would be CF) and I’d like to start further back from SJPdP. Since much of the joy I get from these travels is about connecting with food and the people who make it, I’m thinking 4 days in France would be a good idea. Anyhow have some experiences to share? Thanks!
I’m doing my third Camino this summer. This time, it’s the CP from Porto to Santiago.
At my pace, I expect to have up to 10 extra days to use up after reaching Santiago. So I’m weighing my options on what to do next.
Two choices so far: walk on to Muxia (I bussed it to Finisterre before) and...
Maybe it's a sign that I'm a slow learner. Or that I've managed to forget how much I hurt after my Camino last summer (July-Aug), but I'm going back for more. The way I see things, the Camino always changes. The landscape is almost incidental. What really matters are the people you meet there...
Am having a really good stay at a newer albergue just outside Puente de la Reina, called Santiago Apostol. They were passing out leaflets at Alto de Perdone today and the fact they had a pool was a big draw. Decent bunks, good meal, clean washroom and a refreshingly cold pool were all exactly...
I start my Camino in a week. Thinking I might try and book accommodations ahead day by day using the Booking.com app. But when I try to, it doesn't seem to quote peregrino rates. Just full rate. Does that get recitified when I show up with my Camino passport?
I start my first Camino in two weeks and I've been thinking a bit about some what-ifs. For footwear, I'm bringing one pair of shoes and flipflops for the shower. But I got to thinking: what happens if I get stuck in several days of rain and that one pair of shoes get soaked?
What have others...
With my first date with the Camino quickly approaching, I'm thinking about a few practical details about my day-to-day routine on the walk. One of those: how to manage my pack and my valuables at bed time.
Dear experienced Peregrinos: what do you do with a wallet and passport at bedtime? I'm...
My flight is booked. I'm testing my newer gear and still finding ways to keep trimming down the weight of my pack to under 10kg. Focusing on simplicity. I'm doubling my daily walking regime. Bought the excellent Wise Camino Guide for my iPad mini. I've also told friends and associates of my...
Hi all: I only have 4 weeks and this is my first Camino. Yes, going in July-August is not ideal, but I’m working with what I have. And that means July-August.
My plan is based around doing the most with the time that I have without treating it like a race. I’d like to have the flexibility...
