    Hair

None of you use oliveoil soap? It's the best, for your hair, your body and washing your clothes. But I do need a comb to untangle my hair and it's not even long enough to reach my shoulders. But it has to be a real oliveoil soap, like the ones they make in Greec or the Middle East. In Sweden at...

    walking june 2010

Hi Monica Happy to see someone from Sweden found this forum, not many of us here. Did you notice The Albergue on the top of the page? You will find a Scandinavian group if you register. Välkommen! Pepa

    Route Variation??

Hi again, John- maybe it would be nice to go Lugo- Sobrado dos Monxes-Arzua-Santiago. That would mean only one day on the Francés and there seems to be a great albergue/monastery in Sobrado dos Monxes, I think I'd like to stay the night there! Pepa

    Route Variation??

Hi John, I will walk the primitivo in August so this is an interesting question for me too. I will keep following this thread and maybe the Inglés is a good alternative like Sillydoll suggested. Pepa

    Language question

Yes Bridget and Peter, you're right, thanks. I was looking at this page http://caminodesantiago.consumer.es/ and they don't mention it, that's what confused me. Pepa

    Language question

Thank you Margaret, I see what you mean. But I looked at a Spanish forum and I don't find the Camino Inglés on their maps, what do they call it in Spanish? Anybody knows? Pepa

    Language question

Hi everybody, just would like to know if "El Camino Inglés" is the same route that the Spanish call Sanabrés (or Mozárabe)? And why is it called "Inglés" in English, I know that Inglés means English, I'd like to know where that name came from. Just being curious. :D Pepa

    August 2010

Hi Laurie, I thought about your suggestion but I'm sorry to say won't be able to add any days. My initial plan was to start in Irún and walk to Bilbao on the Norte and get a bus from Bilbao to Oviedo and the Primitivo. But -due to family business- I'll only have time for the Primitivo this...

    August 2010

Thank you Rose Louise, I am, in fact, enjoying the planning a lot, that is part of the Camino, that's why it is such a great thing to book tickets, it becomes real, now I know I will be going, the Camino is there, waiting for me. I would love to see some of the Forum member if there is someone...

    August 2010

Happy, happy, happy!! Just booked my tickets. If all goes well my Camino starts in July from Oviedo, I have read many of the previous posts on the Primitivo and I think I'll love it, just 7 months to wait!

    Class of 2010

Hi everybody, happy to join the class of 2010. But which path...? Not sure yet. I planned to continue the Francés I started on last year, to go in May was my plan initially. Now it seems I'll have to wait until August which means I'll leave the Francés for another year. I now consider starting...

    Primitivo or Francés in 2010?

Thank you Rebakah, I'm happy to hear there are other women considering this route. I think I can have at least 15 days just for walking so I could enjoy the mountains without hurry. Pepa

    Primitivo or Francés in 2010?

Hi everybody, Need some advice for next year since I can't make my mind up. This September I did St Jean-Santo Domingo and had decided to go back in May to walk St Domingo-Santiago, but I'm starting to have doubts about it...considering the Holy Year and the expected masification on the Francés...

    September Starters

Hello Brooke, I intend to start September 5 as well, but from SJPP. This is my first camino and I suppose I'll be walking quite slowly, then again, if you are even slower and stop to talk to a lot of people I might find you, I'll look out for your brightly stripped socks! Buen camino and you do...

    Bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles

Freqency of Hostels and Public Transport

Hi, I arrive in Pamplona September 3 and have to take my plan back Sept 14 from the same city. I checked the buses, there are a lot, at different hours from different places, I don't think it will be a problem. I haven't done the Camino yet so I can't advice on the easiest parts, sorry. Godd...

    Walking stick

Hi, the same question... would it be possible to buy a walking stick in SJPP? Or should I buy one in Pamplona before I go? Pepa

    A little late....

Yes I know, I thought so too, about what I'll do during the rest of the day, because I heard there is not even a village to visit. But then again, even if I do manage these 4 hours I still have to manage another 4-6 before Roncevalles and in my case I think it'll be too much. You'll be four days...

    A little late....

Hi Kelly, I will start from SJPP the 5th so what I am considering now is; should I book a bed in Orisson before I leave or shall I give it a try and see if I manage to Roncevalles in one day?...and then perhaps I get to Orisson and find there is no bed for me if I need one...I'll think about it...
