I tried to get a credential from Terre di Mezzo in Milan but no response to my email or response to my ringing their doorbell. I am going to Como on Saturday and Tuesday taking the train to start walking the VF from Massa. I think I can get a credential in Lucca but would like start it in Massa...
I noticed after a couple of weeks of walking that my second smallest toe was aching. I kept thinking I had a blister but no. The underside of the toe appeared swollen and white and when walking hurt as it moved around in my shoe. So I taped it up. I finished walking two months ago, and while the...
I am walking on my own and missing the communal meals. Is there a list of albergues offering communal meals between Sarria and Santiago. I started from SJPDP and it has been a highlight of the Camino.
I am now in Bayonne and it is cold and wet, was beautiful weather in Paris on Friday. I imagine even colder and wetter crossing over the Pyrenees. To keep my load light I only have minimum clothing and nothing very warm. Start walking Wednesday pm, should I buy gloves, hat and a merino long...
I am thinking of posting my excess luggage to Santiago from Bayonne as I want to start walking to Orisson a couple of hours after arriving in SJPDP. Anyone have any experience with the Bayonne post office and whether the luggage turned up in Santiago?
Less than three weeks to go. I am going to post extra stuff to Santiago from SJPDP. Anybody have any problems using the post office and their belongings arriving at the Correos or Ivar's. Were you able to work out the difference in cost between posting in France at SJPDP versus waiting until...
So with the train strike happening, I have decided to stay and extra day in Paris so I can travel on a no-strike day. If I purchased a non-refundable discount train ticket and for some reason the trains are out that day as well, am I entitled to a refund. Or should I pay extra? TIA
I am flying with Qatar Airlines and I don't think I can carry my walking poles in the plane. I just checked their rules and walking sticks are ok, but walking poles were excluded. Does anybody have recent experience. I can't fold and place mine in my luggage.
While in NZ in December, I came across a travel magazine with an article about the Camino. The article started off, 'But first, buy a pack of lady's stockings.' Apparently you wear the stockings under a pair of socks, and hikers swear by it. Anyone heard of this?
Hello, this is my first post. I am considering walking the Camino in 2018 or 2019. I don't know which one I should do so am looking to buy a book which describes all the possibilities before deciding. Then buy a book for the one I decide on. Can anyone recommend the best guide for me? thank you
