Sleeping in a dorm room where there's someone with a CPAP

I have only been in an Albergue once with a CPAP? Machine. It wasn't a problem. There are a lot more intrusive goings on in an Albergue. After a good days walk I sleep until the first Pilgrim starts squirrelling in his pack in the morning. 😃

    Thinking about tents

It is not really the cost of the tent but the cost of camping. It would be a great way for the Spanish to open up the Camino again to provide abolition blocks and a place to pitch a tent

    Minimalist running shoes?

I started our first Camino in hiking boots I had just used for an 8 day hike in Namibia, the Nakluft, and straight after the 5 day Fish River Canyon hike. My feet were shot by the time I reached Pamplona. I finished the Francais, in what can best be described as Jesus sandels. The next 3...

Security of backpack contents during flights

I use a 250 gm 50 liter barrel bag in which share with my wife for checked luggage. This gets out backpacks down to carry on size. All our essentials then stay in our carry on luggage

Thanks so much for this info Anna, we are just completing the CF started last year from SJPP, before catching the bus to Porto on the 4 September. This will be our first Portuguese Camino, and info on accomodation in Porto seems to be vague

Looking for the Cheapest budget, tips

Being from South Africa with a very poor exchange rate we budget on 30€ per day. We stay at Municipal Albergues, and shop at Supermarkets. I carry a Billy and cook our food. For emergencies we carry packet soup and bread, and a packet of protein meal replacement. There is enough in the budget...

    Feeling somewhat concerned

I definitely recommend a stay at Orisson, if only for the experience. After a leasurly walk we were in Roncesvalles before opening time. It was a great start to our Camino last year. (Only stopped for coffee in 2017)
