    Tea on the go

Hi Carla. My thermos has a wide mouth on it and the immersion coil heater does fit in. Although it is meant for a cup, theoretically it could work. Just don't let the water level get close to power cord ... obviously 🤪. Hopefully pics will give you a better idea. (Apologies if I stuff this bit...

    Tea on the go

Hi Carla I have used a coil heater/immersion heater whilst on the CF. Loved it and won't leave home without it whilst travelling in Europe. This time I am hiking in the UK doing a Coast to coast walk - West to East. I have found a light weight thermos by Klean Kanteen wide vacuum insulated...

    CP Rest Day?

I walked CP to SDC in Sept this year - the Coastal route. So my vote is for Viana. Great place to visit. If you head this way try to stay at Donna Emilia - Fabulous bnb Hotel. I had my best meal the whole trip in Viana as well. Great Cathedral to visit on the hill, accessable by Furnicular...

Foot Problems Post Camino - What Did You Deal With?

Yep MichaelF! I walked my first camino in 2017 with a plantar facititis! ( Just stubborn I guess) and developed knee pain before Sarria ( thank goodness for the trekking poles!). Two years on, lots of physio, acupunture and an arthroscopy with patellar release and very slow walking to build...

Questions about “foot bag” for this year

I'm with Laurie on the treatment of blisters. But just to throw the cat amongst the pidgeons.... I use Tea Tree Oil(a plant based natural anti bacterial)to cleanse the unopened blister then after. Pop on a bandaid & KTape after to keep in place. Blisters on feet will be living in hot sweaty...

good hotel to stay in St. Jean

I stayed in a B & B just up the hill from the Arch way - Errecaldia. It's run by a couple of English gents. Not overly flash but clean and welcoming with all the amenities required and a nice hearty breakfast in the morning. Nice and clean and quiet, great views from the windows! for Mountain...

    Wool socks

I used Wigwam Coolmax socks on the CF in Sept/Oct. Absolutely no problems with them. However they had worn out in the heel area close to the end. Just keep in mind, you might need an extra pair in case of wear and tear. Cheers CL

Hi @markbarnes. I am in Azofra tonight. I have only packed a silk liner & not a sleeping bag. The nights are cooler & not all albergue 's offer a blanket. So far I have slept in my clothes & liner twice & been ok. So who knows. The locals are saying that it is a little cooler than usual...
