    Guitarist just before Astorga

Just before Astorga, on the top of the hill, theres a guitar player who sings songs about the Camino. I think his name is Jose Jiminez. () I was wondering if anyone had a link to a site where I could stream or buy online some of his songs?

    My Experience on the Invierno

Chantada to Rodeiro I usually look at elevation maps every night to get an idea of what next day will look like. One thing stands out on that day. Alto de Faro. the elevation map shows a huge mountain between Rodeiro and Chantada. But the reality did not match my fears or worries. The climb to...

    My Experience on the Invierno

Quiroga to Monforte de Lemos I remember that it was a long day. I had a nice nap next to the dam in Pobra do Brollon. I also remember the way leaving pobra. just before monforte along the green fields, theres a farm. the way there was waterlogged as mentioned in the guide. the moment you enter...

    My Experience on the Invierno

A Rua to Quiroga The guidebook mentions a possibility of missing a tunnel leaving A Rua, I think new signs and arrows have been added to make sure people dont. The walk till now is always interesting because you'd often find yourself walking side by side Rio Sil or climbing a mountain that...

    My Experience on the Invierno

Peunte de Domingo Fluorez to a Rua Had breakfast in Bar Mar. Turns out the owner of the bar in Borrones's sister ran Bar Mar. She was expecting me and told me that her sister had told her a pilgrim will be passing by! :D In a Rua, I stayed in Hostal Niza. for 20 euros, I had a nice room with a...

    My Experience on the Invierno

This post is long overdue. I finished my Camino in Muxia on September 6th after starting in sjpdp and everyday since I've said I need to write this post. But I guess the moment I got back home, I got distracted with the million little things you don't have to worry about on the Camino. Ill try...

    Santiago to Finisterre

Completely agree! Few days ago (now that my camino is over :( ) I went to both Finisterre and Muxia and really loved Muxia! Next to the cemetery there are white arrows that go up a hill its a lovely hike (or you could walk up on a paved road from the other side of the hill) the view from there...

    Describe your Camino

I get asked all the time "hows your camino? " And generally I find it really hard to answer that question. I did think of "wonderfully exhausting" but im not sure that covers it! I was wondering how do you guys answer that question (shortly, without going on a 1 hour monolog about the camino...

    Looking for a group

That was one thing that scared me too (along with bed bugs :p) I started walking on the first of august and I soon realized that walking on your own was much more interesting. You meet people and you chat with them for a while and then they pass you or you pass them... Most importantly is that...

best trail description in a guide book

Theres a very helpful app called camino companion. I like it because it not only tracks u on a map but also shows how far each alburge or town is... But I use it along side wise pilgrim app because it gives some interesting historical information and reviews about each alburge. (keep in mind...

LIVE from the Camino Few Invierno questions

Im sorry I thought the assumption was about the country from the name (then I realized the country is in my profile :p ) Its actually al salam alaykoum (what you said was peace for you) :p Anyway im sure over my stay here in Spain I've butchered a lot of words and phrases too in Spanish but I...

    Am I too laid back?

Im currently on the camino, and the only bed issues I faced were in roncesvalles (had to walk 5 painful kms after the Pyrénées!) and in zubiri (not an issue because I didn't want to stop anyway :p ) But other than that I always find places! Granted I sometimes book ahead at around 12pm if I...

LIVE from the Camino Few Invierno questions

You're correct in your assumptions :p I'm from Lebanon Thats actually one of the reasons why Im doing the Invierno, figured it would be nice to have a little solitude as opposed to what I've been told about thelast 200-100km. But so far its all been great! Im staying at "in-between" stages and...
