    Meaning/division of different stages

At one of my pilgrimages when I arrived in Astorga I had a briefly meeting with a Spanish local, but also a pilgrim, who told me that the part I had just walked represented the present and the problems I might be having right now. Later I have heard about this divisions of the camino from...

    When I get back ...

I look foward to: - see Roncesvalles and the stage walking from there to Pamplona (started in Puente la Reina last time) - see what I did not see walking into Puente la Reina, as I arrived by taxi last time - see the poem on the wall (after Navarrette) one more time - that the hen and the...

How many men for the bogafumeiro?

Yet another unusual question: How many men swings the bogafumeiro during the mass in Santiago? When I was there I definitely counted seven men, but I might have overseen one, as I in all books and descriptions elsewhere read eight.

    San Bol or Sam Bol?

There is a simple albergue some walk after Hontanas on FC. I stayed there, and it was so nice. Does anybody know if the first part of the name of this place is written with an N or an M? Miam Miam Dodo says M, Mundicamino says N. I need to get this right for a text to publish. :)

A poem along the way - by whom?

When walking in 2008, between Navarrete and Najera, I came across a poem written in Spanish on a wall along the way. It was very easy to spot. Don't know if it's still there, but I'm gonna look for it as I'll be walking on the same place in a couple of weeks time. Does anybody know its origin...

Allowed smoking on 30 % of the hotel?

This might be an unsympathetic question, but I will ask it all the same, as I unfortunately have not managed quit smoking: I know that Spain had a new law against smoking in January, like not allowed to smoke in bars and restaurants and so on, where a lot of people is at the same time. But...

The hardest part is the travelling

My next trip is only 5 weeks away. This will be my fifth time travelling to the Camino alone. But still I'm worried. I always try to find the easiest way to travel, for me. Going by airplane is the best. Trains are difficult. I have to find the right platform. Buses used to be ok, but after...

    Bus Pamplona-Roncesvalles

Last time I was in Pamplona I wanted to take the bus to Puente la Reina. I went to the ticket window at Pamplona bus station telling my errand, but the man there only spoke a lot of words, in Spanish, which I don’t know too much of. “I’ll most likely get it in another window”, I thought, but...

Travelling with a new second first name

This might seem like a minor problem, but would like to know what you think: Leaving for Spain in March. I have just added a second first name together with the one I already have through authorities here in Norway. Should be nice using my new name on the Camino when introducing myself to...

    Accomodation in October?

I am just about to book plane-tickets Norway-France, as I all of a sudden get in doubt... (or maybe just scared... as I am going alone and don't speak French :D ) I have walked the camino in Spain 2008/2009, using pensions or small hotels most nights. This time I plan to walk Le Puy-Figeac...
