I hope this is an appropriate place to post this question, if not, my apologies. I am bringing together professional classical musicians who are also pilgrims for a classical music performance in Santiago, June 2024. This will be a benefit performance (or two) for local pilgrim organizations. We...
I just finished walking the Camino Terisiano from Avila to Alba de Tormes. It was only 4 days but I learned so much. Saint Teresa was an incredible woman and had a beautiful insight into life and it’s purpose. This was a very solitary route but at every historical site, every museum, every...
Just touched down in Madrid and will walk the Camino Levante beginning in Toledo. I will be taking a detour to walk the Camino Teressano. Not a well known route but stay tuned and I will tell you about it.
Greetings everyone. I have just completed walking from the far south east point of Portugal, all the way up the coast line, Santiago, Muxia then Fisterra. Getting ready for my return to Santiago then home to California when I received a phone call that my husband had a heart attack and was in...
I have just completed the Camino Portugues route arriving in Santiago about an hour ago. I must comment on the incredible Spiritual Route or Variente Espiritual. This was the highlight of my whole Camino. I highly recommend it if you have the option. This was my fourth Camino and honestly, of...
I am currently on the Camino Portugues, week four. I have just the basic thin cloth minimal type. It has not been a problem except for two instances. An airport and an underground. In both cases, when the security person said that mine was not proper the freely handed me the proper type. -Gigi
Greetings from the Camino Portugal. I am just beginning week four having started in Santo Antonio. A detour through Fatima was easily done using my phone GPS as the trail markers were just not there. I am currently in Porto and finally I am seeing other pilgrims. While the Albergues are not...
As long as you know where you are going and have a good GPS on your phone, you can pretty easily find your way. I have not been relying on the blue / yellow arrows at all but, when I see I one, I smile.
I began walking the Camino Portuguese from the very south east corner of Portugal about two weeks ago. When I got to Santarem I took the Camino Fatima branch West. What a lovely walk that was. Now, I’m heading north and northwest to Porto to continue to Santiago. Just a word of caution to those...
I started in Villa Real de Santo Antonio. Lovely journey thus far. Even the tourist casino areas. They went by fast but were interesting. I loved the solitary beaches
I found a casa rural in Amaias de Baixo. Not much around here.
Greetings to everyone from the Camino Portuguese. I am in my second week, coming from California, and I thought people might want to know what it is like. First of all, I had no problem getting into Lisbon airport with my negative Covid results and paperwork for my Covid vaccination. I began...
