Crazy things people do in the last 100 km

While I was walking from Le Puy to Santiago a young German who was running the Camino stopped and said hello. He runs 50 km a day for the whole Camino I asked him if I could take his picture to show others of this incredible feat and he said yes. I still have the photo.

Lots of Canadians on this forum?!

Which province you represent is not important for me. The people I met Canadians, fellow Québecers and every country in the world were all earthly angels who contributed to my pilgrimage. We are all brothers and sisters.

    Memorable people on the Camino?

Has anyone ever met Gunter on the Camino. He said he has been walking for 10 years. Reads from his Bible every night. His son sends him money every now and then to help him live on the Camino year round.

How much did you spend and what was the total cost of your Camino Frances, start to finish?

I bet a lot depends on why you want to walk a Camino. If it is for a vacation then you could spend almost any amount depending on where you stay or eat. I was thinking of all the people I met walking the Caminos. Most stayed in Municipal Albergues and bought their food in grocery...

Hi there. No one can walk in your shoes. I wish you well in any and all decisions that you will be taking . I would have two suggestions to offer you Matt. First go to a gym and train. Exercise helps me a lot. Second don't put anything on your path that puts any stress or...

Accomodations in Albergues Late August and Sept 2021

It is really hard to know. I would be inclined to say no you should be OK. But reserve the first night as it is tiresome looking for an albergue after a long plane ride. And Buen Camino Mick.

    Dangerous dog before Triacastela

Hello Jo A. It seems you did the right thing. @ Wasn't sure wether to run or what! @ I kept walking faster down the way. Never run from a dog as it is their instinct to go after prey. Stop. Use your knapsack or batons or stick to hold in front of you but don't hit the dog. Back...

Stupid question about the boat ride

When I went in 2018 there was a ramp going up into the boat. The boat had about 50 or 60 people seated in the comfortable seats. It was a fairly big boat. PS you are going to love that Camino. Bye for now.

Video: How to Avoid Blisters - It Can be Done

All helpfull comments. Thank you everyone. On one Camino the Le Puy a young man saw me hobbling along in great pain. He came to me and told me he walked from Austria and that he wore woman's nylon stockings. He gave me a pair of ankle length stockings to try. I think they helped.

I have a dog Héra 73 pounds of Lab. The first time I walked Le Puy I left her at home and her anxiety got so bad my wife had to take her to the vet. The pills did not work so the vet told my wife to put the dog in a boarding kennel in order for her to be with other dogs. Problem solved...
