The only problem I found on the Camino with Coffee was that one could not get a large enough cup of it. I had to wait till I got To Starbucks in Madrid on my way home to get a tall cup.
I am using Gerald Kellys Book. I purchased his 2019 edition and joined his VDLP facebook page which also has some very helpful info. Gerald was very approachable and sent me a link to update my 2019 edition to the 2020 edition. I hope to start walking on the 30th March.
Thanks for that info Dave. I have been wearing in a pair of Hoka bondi version 6 for the De La Plata starting late March and I thought that they were slippery on cobbled type surfaces. I will try the heel first method and see if that helps. I notice that the hoka has a pronounced bevel at the...

This may seem a silly question but if one walks the VdlP from Seville to Zamora then proceeds along the Sanabres to Santiago do you receive a Compostela and if so for which route. Do you also have to get 2 stamps a day for the last 100 klm.
I am looking at walking the Via de la Plata starting mid March 2020 and am looking for suggestions for travel from Sydney Australia to Seville.( Preferably by Aircraft););)
I suffered with gout for many years on and off and at times could not even stand to having a sheet touch my big toe whike sleeping. Eventually I took my doctors advice an now take a Allopurinol tablet each day and have had no attacks in the last 5 years .
Being a long time beer drinker and not wanting to drink to much full strength beer each day I found that Raddler was a very refreshing drink. Most bars had it on tap but if it was not available the bar person would mix lemon cordial with full strength beer for the same result.
I also went down the deviation a couple of weeks ago and thought it was downright dangerous although I am 67 and probably not as good on my pins as younger people.
I also have been training with a Stratus 36 and find no problems with the hip pockets. Maybe if you try it a little higher on your waist it may get it in closer to your body and away from your forearms.
