Want to travel from Villaviciosa to Oviedo but then get back on Camino Nord at Gijon - thoughts / possibilities?

Thanks for all the pics and information - looking like a side day trip (kinda a rest day) via bus or train into Oveido and back later in day to Gijon is the most plausible ! Totally want to see the monastery and museums there!

Want to travel from Villaviciosa to Oviedo but then get back on Camino Nord at Gijon - thoughts / possibilities?

I was hoping to be able to travel from Villaviciosa to Oviedo to see the San Salvador Cathedral and the museums there but don't want to continue on the Primivito. What is the best way to do this? Walk to Oviedo and then take bus or transport back up to Gijon? Or should I bypass Gijon and head...

Anyone started Camino Nord in Biarritz to Saint-Jean-de-Luz instead of Bayonne?

Has anyone started the Camino Nord from Biarritz to Saint-Jean-de-Luz instead of Bayonne? Was thinking of visiting Bayonne to get credentials at the Cathedral and then taking bus to Biarritz and starting from there. Is there a route and is it marked? Possibly more scenic /shorter. - thoughts and...

How empty is the Lisbon section?

I will be leaving from Lisbon with two friends I met last year on the Camino Frances - I'm Canadian and they are British. We depart May 31st so just a day ahead - hope we meet up! We will be the crazy fun loving ones that enjoy our wine and shenanigans - check out my blog: www.mycaminosresolve.com

Which clothes/garments to wear during /buy for the Camino?

I'm a big fan of Icebreaker - tank tops, light 150 weight long sleeve, socks and I even have the shorts and one dress. You can wear the dress out at night and go straight to bed in it. Icebreaker can be worn multiple times before it needs to be washed (doesn't smell), dries quickly and holds up...

    Top tips and gentle reminders

Totally second this - had heat stroke when I pushed too far one leg and the crazy, new to the Camino (around Sarria) peregrine family that was leaving early the next morning were completely unorganized and disruptive! The guy above me woke very early and I only heard him get down from the bunk...

Hank's Camino Packing List (ultralight: under 5 kg / 10 lbs)

THANKS and Yes - so will I - the double hiking foot wear is my only concern but since I'm in Paris for 3 days and post in Barcelona I wasn't sure how not to pack runners and hiking shoes - plus my feet are so wide and hard to fit I can't just buy a pair along route if something happens.

Hank's Camino Packing List (ultralight: under 5 kg / 10 lbs)

So I finally got my packing video posted. This one is geared towards women and on my blog I list in detail the items that I am taking. Again what you pack is personal but I feel like I have gained so much valuable information from this forum and others as well as from research and seminars, that...
