Weather conditions now in June ??

I don't know - I brought my gear with me. Maybe other members can chime in?

Sometimes it’s hard to be a Pilgrim!

I live in Portland, too! I think it's funny that I'm missing record breaking sun in Portland and hitting (what I think is) unusually wet weather in Spain!

Weather conditions now in June ??

It's definitely wet, but not particularly cold. For the most part it's been a really thick mist most of the day with a good soaking shower in the afternoon. I've been wearing my lightweight clothes with a poncho and haven't been cold at all. Be sure to bring quick dry everything because nothing...

    Best Print Guide?

I tried to use the Wise Pilgrim app and couldn't get it to work on my Android phone. But my friend is able to use it on her Apple phone. If you download it, be sure to test it out first.

Sometimes it’s hard to be a Pilgrim!

Seriously! I can't believe people are hanging their clothes out to dry. They must have days before they need them!

    Best Print Guide?

I have three guides with me (in Santillana del Mar now) and have used all three. The Cicerone guide can be purchased as an ebook and I believe the updates version will be out very soon. The Buen Camino app has been essential! You can download the maps for use offline and location doesn't use...

    San Miguel de Mereulo

I know that this albergue has closed temporarily as of April of this year. Does anyone know if it will open again soon?

    Camino Norte June

Hi, Frank. I am very much enjoying it! The Buen Camino app shows some options but not all. The Wise Pilgrim guide shows more. I also think that by the time you go the Cicerone guide will have published their updates. You can download it as an ebook if you don't want to carry it.

    Camino Norte June

I agree! I have the book with me as well and that is how I got my credential.

    Camino Norte June

That may have been the spare I left there on the 18th? He didn't seem to have a lot of them.

    Camino Norte June

Hi, Daniel. I am on the Norte now, and there are more folks here than I expected. In June you may have to book ahead. However, a couple of the albergues will be open then that are not open now. A couple of other things: as far as I understand, the Brierly guide does not cover the Norte, just the...

    Norte coastal reroute at Pasaia

I totally understand! I dragged my aching body to San Sebastian and I'm considering either a bus to Igueldo or at least the tram. Maybe I'll see you out there. I'm the achingly slow Peregrina with the black bandana. Buen Camino!

    Norte coastal reroute at Pasaia

Me, too! You weren't the Peregrino offering Sangre de Cristo on the Purgatorio were you?

Zarautz May 19 - surfing contest

That one doesn't open until July 1 (unless you know something I don't ). I did mention PayPal, but the private Albergue in Getaria just sent me wire info.

Zarautz May 19 - surfing contest

There's nothing available for less than $150. Should I just wing it and hope that the private albergues that are listed as pilgrim only will be available? Just trying to avoid a $40 wire fee if possible. But if not, that's still far less than $150 for a bed!

Bread Cheese and Meat, Oh my!

This is amazing info - thank you!
