    Sorry...

Thank you so much Kirkie...I used some slang terms on the food thread that I shouldn't have used for people...Huhhh this forum is teaching me to use polite words and that is cool coz I know in life we have to go softtly softly and stop using words we normally use. Thank you for your lovely...

    Sorry...

Hi Sorry to the people (and moderator) who were angry at my post about the food thing at the Parador in Santiago. Sorry to the person who had to delete it. I know my way of speaking is simple and that I am , I guess, what you'd call common as I just went to a normal comp, but I'll try to be...

    Spirit of the Camino

Hey John, When you say 'the Camino has lost its way' which Camino do you mean? There are lots of quiet Caminos with hardly any people walking them and on those, you won't find 'everyone on the phone' or 'taking a million selfies'. Why not give one of the quieter Caminos a go and meet maybe one...

[Disappointed] Pil Pil Hostel: Worst Hospitality Manner

I'm probably one of the noisiest people out there, but in this case, I think you should respect the rules of the hostel. No check in till check-in time and no talking after lights out. I think the rules are fair and if I was that guy, I would want some space to clean and just be on my own for a...

    Albergue Salas for sale

I read about these and I don't think they were for pilgrims. I read they were occupied by lepers and were very basic in a very cold area far from civilization.

    What to wear in bed?

Hi Albertagirl, Normally I don't wear anything when I sleep at home but obviously I'll have to wear something as minimal as possible in the albergues. Your advice is really good and I actually already tried what it would be like in a bikini. I'm lucky as normally I sleep on my front, so a...

    Camino Portuges

Hi Wazza, \I haven't walked it yet but have done loads of research and the waymarkings sound pretty good. In fact, there are so many roads on it, I've alresdy followed a lot of it on google maps and followed it by looking for the yellow arrows (which my mate says are way easier to see in real...

    What to wear in bed?

If it's as hot as it sounds, then I'm just going to sleep in my bikini. If I can wear it on a beach, I'll wear it in a dorm.

    A different point of view

Good to see everyone has a different point of view. For me, it's the wine, short stages, sometimes long nights and lots of stops in bars with my mates that is enticing me. But who knows, maybe there will be something of the spirit that doesn't come from a cocktail.

    Scam outside of Sarria

If they come near us in a forest on our upcoming Camino, they'll get a big whack of our walking sticks around their heads. They can make a police report, of course ;)

Follow us on Del Norte! Leaving today!

Your Fcking Ziti logo is cool.

John Brierely and The Purpose of Camino

Cool...so as I am drinking my second bottle of wine on my upcoming Portuguese Camino trip, I'm gonna be getting some sort of soul awakening.

    Credential Misery

Wow ...not going well for the OP. I see he is a 'badgolfer'. Perhaps a bit more patience with his golf might help him improve that, too.

    Mosquitoes and pollen on CP?

If you want to reduce mozzie bites, a rad solution is to drink large glasses of G and Ts. The quinine in the tonic (if it is good tonic) is actually really good at reducing mozzie bites and you can enjoy lots of great drinks while gossiping the evenings away with friends.

    Maybe its me

Reading these posts makes me kinda look forward to this Camino more now. I like the idea that there are so many different types of people doing it and so many people wanna let their hair down and relax a bit. If some people really don't like the busy Camino Frances and seeing people enjoying a...

Leaving on my first Camino in the morning & I'm terrified. Please help!

Hi, thanks for the information and message. I deleted the bit that was offensive. I don't want to offend anybody...just happy and stoked to be going on me hols with the girls to this interesting new place. Only been to Ibiza and Benidorm previously and not on the walking part so it'll be nice to...

Barcelos to Ponte de Lima - 34.7 km

I was reading the same book and we saw this before. Me and a few of the girls at work are doing this walk as a food and wine culture / party / keep fit thing with someone who has done the main route last year and we talking about this distance too. There's no way we can walk this far as we aim...

For non-smokers, a couple of restaurants in Galicia

OH, I didn't know that it was illegal now, like in England. I hate smoke when I'm drinking my wine and eating, so this is semi good that indoors is clean air, but it would be nice to be breathing fresh air outdoors while drinking too.
