Hi, I finished central route Porto to Santiago on Monday... and it’s been fab. The albergues were busy as I believe sept is a busy month for the Portugués Way, but only twice did I really struggle for accommodation, and had to pay for a nice hotel. A young German pilgrim was confronted yesterday afternoon, just before Caldas de Reis (Portuguese route)... she was alone and this morning we made sure we walked the first hour through forest as a large group, instead of individually. Take care K- KateMarshall

Busy camino
I agree... my first Camino and also on central route. I can’t get over the busyness! Just at Pontevedra today, and treating myself to a hotel purely for some peace to reflect. Lots of pilgrims booking ahead to get beds, but that just doesn’t suit me as my Camino needs to go at the pace it needs...- KateMarshall

I feel your pain! I’m also on central at the moment and I have really struggled! Having to walk on further and last night due to festival in Ponte de Lima I think I managed to get the last hotel room but at a price of €80. I’ve been told by hotel that weekend walkers as filling up the spaces...- KateMarshall
