Update: As I was getting nowhere with the GP’s surgery, I eventually paid a podiatrist to remove it, as I was lucky enough to get a cancellation slot. Feel a lot better for it, and am hoping it is all out now. Her own mother has just completed a Camino at the age of 74, so I was in good hands...
