Hi I actually tried to cycle the Via Augusta. In the end I used Google bicycle route. It was great. Fascinating scenery. Had to camp wild when I ran out of steam. The bicycle route is good. Mainly off road. Not many places to stay though so one needs to camp if a person is slow like me
Very good basic stuff. There is a good blog out there by Annies Simple life that also gives great advice. I would also take tablets to purify water, (Aussey bushmen use Condease Crystals). I drink a lot so those fountains that were a bit dodgy i was able to use.
