From what I've read, the trail over the mountain north of Ponte de Lima (Portela?) is not suitable for cycling. Has anyone tried the N 201 or some other alternate route?
We managed to ride or walk our tandem from Ponferrada to Santiago last September. Even with 26x1.25 tires, it's a little bit limiting, even more so than for a mountain bike, because of some of the road surfaces.
That said, I can't wait to take the tandem out on the CP from Porto to Santiago...
Wondering which of the several routes between these two towns is best for cycling. It looks like taking the N-VI would be the least steep, although a little longer than some other routes. I figure we'll be walking our tandem bike a good part of the way no matter which way we go!
