Success, I logged into my Amazon Australia account and was able to get it. Many thanks Paul, look forward to a good read. Walking from Porto mid-September.
This is a very old post from me, and at the time I was referring to the route out of the city along the highway. Have since discovered the stunning river walk to matasinhos which I highly recommend.
Nicola, if you can spare a couple of hours on your first day, consider walking along the river to Matosinos when you leave Porto, rather than taking the metro. It truly is one of the most beautiful walks on the Camino.
What if you already have your Compostela from a previous walk? Can you continue to use same credential. Complete Triacastella to SdC last year and planning Porto to SdC later this year.
You cannot go wrong with cotton underwear. I would only consider woolen underwear if I were walking in winter. Yes, polyester type shirts are great, we used those on Kokoda and also the Fish River canyon. Quick drying and super light .... but don’t forget the deodorant!
Yes, great forum which is helping us with our preparations in September.
Is it possible to rent a bicycle in Porto and leave it in Santiago or or from Tui?
Student son does not have the dollars to do the cycling tours but has a troublesome knee so may not be able to walk the entire distance.
Good to know, thank you Jodean. We are flying in from Melbourne Australia so could be a tad jetlagged, therefore need to have all our little ducks in a row before departure.
