    Getting food when bedridden

After walking across town the other day to get Kebab in Ponferrada. I realized they deliver with scooters. I would love for more Kebab on the Camino.

Best way to travel from Pamplona to SJPDP for commencing Camino on January 30

Yeah same with the research I’ve done. I arrive in Pamplona on Jan 19. Just gonna take a taxi. I heard it’s around €105. The other option is bussing to Roncesvalles, and taxi from there. Which I’m sure is cheaper. I’m just going to take a taxi from Pamplona.

I highly recommend you go see Juan @ Hostel Convent Garden! Amazing location hard to find the front door until you do. Amazing host, amazing place to stay. 10/10

Shakedown request: February on the Camino Frances, 35 pounds current weight

If you can’t do a week long shakedown hike then I recommended solely living out of that pack for a week. And carry it with you when you go places.

Shakedown request: February on the Camino Frances, 35 pounds current weight

To each their own but that pack sounds miserable. I walked Oct-November with a 10L pack that weighed 6lbs. I’m getting ready to walk CF in January-February with a 24L pack that weighs 9 lbs. I recommend going on a week long shakedown hike and anything that doesn’t get used, ditch.

    Pamplona to SJPP

I’m gearing up for a winter Camino starting the middle of January 2023. This is my first time flying into Pamplona and just need a little help figuring out how to get to SJPP. Based on this thread it looks like the bus won’t be running. Taxi is roughly €105 from Pamplona Airport to SJPP. If I...

Guide to the Haervejen Trail in Denmark -- Viborg to Padborg

The Hærvejen app has useful parts but is horrible at distances. I believe they’re actively working on it. I just walked end of August till end of September and the app gives distance as the crow flies. We’d be heading somewhere 22km way but actual distance on the trail was 36km. Horrible. Also I...

Looking for the Cheapest budget, tips

I've met several pilgrims that ask municipal albergues if they can pitch a tent in their yard, and usually get to do that for free.

Looking for the Cheapest budget, tips

I've got my airfare all secured away at this point. would still have to pay for some busses or trains. So after travel expenses I'm looking at 500-800 euro. I think my time on the Haervejen will help me see how to do groceries for cheap. I will be in 'Spain' for around 48 days (Cheapest flight...

Looking for the Cheapest budget, tips

Hello fellow pilgrims. I've had a few setbacks in my travels. Where I'll basically be going from the Hærvejen straight over to SJPP to start the Camino Frances. Which doesn't sound like a setback at all. Except I'm running low on my funds. So I'll be doing everything I can in Denmark to save...

    Non-Catholic on the Camino

Thank you everyone for the quality advice and support. I had dinner with an Irish woman woman opened up a similar encounter she’d had. Apparently we ran into the same pilgrim that day. I’ve taken a rest day to create space, rain has started again on the Frances so days are going to be a bit...

    Non-Catholic on the Camino

I’m on my 3rd Camino right now, feeling a bit down. Maybe it was just a long hot day of walking. I myself am not Catholic and have my own reasons for being here. But over the last few weeks I’ve dealt with ridicule and off putting comments from other pilgrims. Possibly it’s my natural stance to...

    Still As Busy?

I would bet that with the Cathedral being under construction on the interior and them not having mass there this year, it will be a slower year.

    iPhone cord and plug

I picked this bad boy up on Amazon for like $17 so hopefully I don’t ever wake up in the Albergue to find my phone has been unplugged by another Pilgrim!
