Hi all,
With Covid-19 and life, I had to postponed a longer walk, but I might be able to fit the 144km of Camino Ucles in my non-camino travel. The recommended 8 days is something I can have at my disposal.
However, since I'm arriving on non-camino travel, I'd have "tons" of valuable equipment...
WOW, thank you so much!
Now I think I have 2 preferred options to choose from - your suggestion and the GR14 one suggested above. The GR14 one I think would be slightly shorter.
Oh, I get it. Now according to Gronze there's the Parish place (parish places would always be my preferred option). I don't mind paying slightly more than the few euros I payed in CF. That's life :)
Generally, I dislike the idea of taking public transport, even if I'm back to the same spot. But...
Thanks! I'll need to face the dust then, as September is the only time I'll have in 2021. Hopefully the Covid-19 situation would also improve by then too.
I see that Tres Cantos has a Parish Pilgrim Albergue "Santa Teresa de Jesús" and also an Municipal (that is temporarily closed) - why do...
Wow, this is amazing!
It seems like this should be the most obvious way to walk from Madrid - it's almost the most "direct" one that's for sure!
Should I find pilgrim's accommodation in this "shortcut"?
With Gronze I see in Puente de Duero and Zamora, but nothing in Castronuño, Toro and...
Hi pilgrims,
I want to start walking on Camino de Madrid circa beginning of September (Don't have my airplane tickets yet, but somewhere around the 5th-7th I think?)
I want to walk all the way to Santiago (not only Sahagun). I also want to minimize my time on CF.
Options:
- CF for...
Thanks you all!
For now Madrid seems like my preferred way, as vdlp is too hot, and The Norte I am slightly less interested in (too crowded?), and I walked most of the way from Lisbon already.
I might take the coastal Camino Portuguese, or de Madrid. We'll see :-)
PS I LOVE the Portuguese people!!!
Thanks.
I've walked "against-traffic" before and it wasn't so good for me. Although vdlp doesn't have such huge traffic as I understand :) I really prefer to walk towards Santiago. Another option is to walk to Rome - but I don't think I'm ready for that yet.
What do you think of Madrid as a...
Thanks for your inputs.
I think mid September is the latest I could push my start date. I don't enjoy tremendous heat although coming from warm-ish climate.
Should I think of a different path? Any recommendations? Generally I also want to encounter some pilgrims but really don't want the traffic...
Hi, I have walked the french way before and loved it truly.
I want to walk again, beginning around September 1st. This time I'm thinking of via de la plata.
Is this a good time to start? Is this a recommend way?
I have roughly 1.5 months, maybe 2 months if I stretch it.
I would love to hear your...
Thank you all
I am not deciding yet, but just wanting to know the options.
I believe I'll walk to saint jean pied de port, but I will not know until I get to orolon.
Hi,
I will be starting my second camino in Lourdes next week (7 years has passed since the first!).
Which way do you recommend - piemont (lourdes -> saint jean -> frances), or go with Aragones and join frances in puente la riene?
On my first, I walked from sjpdp to santiago on frances...
