Hi John! Thanks for the info! I'm glad to hear there are more people walking. My last long distance trek in Turkey I only met 4 others. While I don't want the crowded experience of the CF I don't want to be the only one! Thanks again and hope your hike is going well!

Hi Gerald - are there any bookstores in Spain (especially in Barcelona or Sevilla) that carry your guide to VDLP?
I'm currently traveling so Im unable to have a copy shipped to me and I prefer a real book to a digital version.
Thanks!
John
Thanks so much for the info!
I do a lot of backpacking and usually start the day with 3-4 litre regardless of the availability of water. Ive had a couple water related almost emergencies and learned that water is the absolute one thing you don't mess around with. I start my day with 2-3 liter...
Hey John - if all goes well I'll be a week behind you guys starting in Sevilla Sept 13. If you get a chance to post your experiences a few days into your Camino I would love to hear how you guys are doing especially with regards to the heat.
Buen Camino y muchisimas gracias!

Hola Dominick!
When do you think you might start? Are you planning on starting at Seville? I still have not made a final decision either but I'm thinking mid-Sept.
When I make purchases on the internet I go to the negative reviews first. People are usually very pointed and specific with what they didn't like. Oftentimes I find that some of these people make themselves look like fools with their pettiness and general selfishness and one star reviews can...
Hello everybody!
I recently found myself between jobs and am contemplating doing the Via de la Plata starting in Sept. I'm an experienced backpacker/trekker, mostly in the wilderness of the mountains of California, so I do have the gear, map reading skill and fitness level to do this route...
During my two previous month long backpacking trips I would just wash that day's clothing in nothing but water (scrubbing a little extra in the stinky places) then hang those clothes on my backpack. The exposure to sun during the days walk would kill any bacteria and make it nice and fresh. If...
Went to the gym.
Early on in my backpacking career I used to look forward to every meal knowing my load would be that much lighter. But going to the gym and working on upper body strength really helped a lot and made the whole backpacking experience more enjoyable.
