I ask my doctor for two paper prescriptions which I keep in separate areas. Then I sort all my meds into 2X3 inch plastic baggies (found in craft stores) daily packets. That way every night I pull out one packet, take my night meds and in the morning I take the morning ones. I even do this at...
I wish I could walk with you. I can tell you that in walked the camino frances alone in 2021 and there is great peace and joy to be found walking solo. I pray all works out for you and you find what you need. Buen camino
I have walked the camino frances twice, once with my husband and once alone until I got to Sarria where I joined a friend I met on my first camino. My sense is that the camino is much more trafficked and noisy the last 100 km. There are a lot of tours that come for the last 100 km. For myself I...
Your packing list looks very good and I see that others have made excellent suggestions like leaving the flash light in favor of your phone light. I do have some packing suggestions. Everything in my pack got packed into a nylon stuffy sack so every evening I was able to take everything out and...
I had blisters on my first camino in 2019. For my preparation for my camino this year I bought a pair of armaskin liners. So far, and it’s only training, I have had no problems with blisters. These liners have a sticky surface on the inside that prevent the liner from shifting on my foot thus...
I didn’t avoid the blister debacle on my first camino in 2019 but I have been training wearing armaskin socks. They have a light rubbery lining and do not slip on your feet causing friction. They are pricey at $35 a pair.
I walked the camino last year and wore Salomon’s X-Mission 3. I broke my ankle in three places in 2010 and also wear an orthotic. I liked the fit and weight of the shoe. They are not waterproof. Another big selling point for me is the lacing system on the shoe. This year I had planned to walk...
I also had to cancel all my bookings. I made a few myself and most through booking.com. Only one reservation in Santa Domingo de la Calzada (San Roque 18 apartment) was non-refundable. After contacting the rental agency they said they would reschedule even for September 2021. So I am now...
Thank you so much. This is very helpful. I will look in to the Mavic line. I think my camino this year will not happen, but I can still invest in a drone and try it out in my neighborhood. Thanks again.
I am interested in getting a drone. I think aerial footage does give a perspective and tells the story a bit differently. I’m interested in your thought, what else you create as a videographer, and what drone you use.
i agree with all the suggestions to put heavier stuff on the bottom and easy access for stuff you may need during the day. One thing I found very helpful is to sort my stuff by category...toiletries, electronics, clothes, etc....and pack them in separate stuff sacks. Easy to unpack, easy to...
