Help Needed to Collect Parcel in Santiago de Compostela

Follow this guy, JT Pedersen, on Instagram. He has walked the camino many times and he now lives in Santiago de Compostela. He's a nice guy, maybe he can help! https://www.instagram.com/thedanishvikingpilgrim/?hl=en

    ATM in Spain and Portugal

Actually, there is no minimum required, there are no fees. You simply open the checking account, they establish the brokerage account (which is simply a savings account unless you want to trade) and you fund the brokerage account. Once it is funded, you transfer some funds into the checking...

Camino frances vs camino norte in Aug/Sep,

Do you think it's necessary to book ahead along the CF this year in mid-August and September? I ask because I've heard it is quite busy this year due to it being effectively-nearly closed for the last few years.

Camino frances vs camino norte in Aug/Sep,

Here's my two cents: It's your first camino and you want to experience what it feels like to walk the Camino. From what I've read, the Norte is a bit harder, and it's a bit more isolated. The tourists do book the coastline albergues along the Camino Norte, so there may be a bit of competition...

    Checking your backpack on flights

Thanks for the update! I fly from Orlando to wherever and they are generally large airplanes. Still, I'm going to remember this! Buen Camino!

    Checking your backpack on flights

That sounds like my worst nightmare! I'm happy your bag arrived safely. Thanks for the warning. Do you think if you had the opportunity for "early boarding" it would have prevented this from happening? I'll definitely make a point to board as early as possible in the future. I never check a bag...

    Checking your backpack on flights

Excellent idea! I gave away one of those "China bags" recently, thinking why would I ever need this again. Now I know why I should have kept it - for just in case I have to check a bag. But I must say, I do everything possible to avoid checking a bag! I have a 36 L Osprey that fit in the...

    "The Way": shooting locations map

Holy Cow! This is really amazing. I had no idea how many The Way junkies were out there. Finally, something fun to do in my spare time. I'll be looking at all of the comments soon. Thank you! 😊

Wow, thank you SO MUCH. I love this. I have seen the movie once, just ordered my own DVD so I can watch it multiple times. I will look for the locations! :)

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Covid positive pilgrims arriving in SDC. (if any)

Very useful info, thanks for posting. I can't get to the "source" page due to "privacy issues" (not a secure site) but it's good to know there is good data!

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Medical Insurance while traveling in Spain

Thank you all for continuing this conversation. Here I was, busy trying to figure out a way to travel to Europe and haven't even checked to see if I could get travel insurance to cover COVID medical expenses overseas, should I be lucky enough to travel and unlucky enough to get infected. So I'm...

August 2020 looking for some advice

I agree the EU shouldn't let US citizens come directly there. But if someone goes to another country first, say the UK, and self-quarantines for 2 weeks, then enjoys that country and moves on to Spain, should that be allowed? I was thinking about doing just that!

August 2020 looking for some advice

Things seem to be changing daily so hopefully you'll get to Europe this summer. I'm trying as well and I'm only a meager US citizen. Doesn't this article suggest if someone is a tourist in the UK, they can enter Spain...

August 2020 looking for some advice

It's so risky to book a flight at this time. I think I could hike in the UK if I wanted to self-quarantine for 2 weeks?

August 2020 looking for some advice

Thank you. It doesn't look like I'll be going anywhere soon. I made a joke on Facebook that last year I visited Costa Rica, Australia, Paris, Spain, Belgium, Amsterdam, India, Nepal, and Bhutan, and so far this year I've been to the park! Should I laugh or cry, lol?
