    Madrid Hotel Recommendations

The Melia Reina Victoria is centrally located, easy access to Sol, the museums, Plaza Mayor etc and great tapas all around. Depends on your budget.

I would check Booking.com. There are hundreds of hotels in Madrid. We are staying in Meliá Reina Victoria in October which is pretty central. Depends on your budget.

Sara talks about her assault on the Salvador

What a story! Poor girl. She is so brave to carry on but boy was she lucky to find that policeman’s house!

Sorry if this has been asked before...

On second thoughts I see you live on the East coast of U.K. That’s just one notch up from Lancashire so I retract my offer!

Why the Camino is not for us? Is Camino de Santiago worth it? | Our final thoughts, tips and advice

I don’t understand why this couple feel that they should be bound by official stages. You don’t have to walk a set path or a set distance and if you want to “detour” to view a place of interest then there are no rules to stop you doing that!

Suggestion to Ivar and the dangers of giving medical advice

I think it everyone’s right to take or reject any advice given. I did a whole load of reading before my Camino and bought some lambs wool after reading about it helping cushion blisters. It was absolutely invaluable and I wouldn’t have been able to carry on without it.

    Will it EVER slow down?

Well I certainly helped in May. Eight nights accommodation in hotels and guest houses and fully enjoyed my food and drink. Only had one pilgrim’s menu in 8 days. Like others have already said, I don’t mind sharing my money with the Spaniards

Cathedral Closed...Is the Camino still worth it?

We came back from our Camino just a couple of weeks ago. The Pilgrim’s mass is held in a beautiful church near the Cathedral. That being said, I went to an early morning mass en route in Arzúa and found that one much more spiritually uplifting. For me, the magic of the Camino is to walk along...

Warning! Alert to women doing the Camino alone near Logroño - Please share

A tazer? Really? If you can get through customs you may as well take a gun! Absolutely no need for violence. A loud whistle would be much better.

Warning! Alert to women doing the Camino alone near Logroño - Please share

I was going to say exactly the same! Personally I would have been tempted to run towards him with a demented look of my face (not difficult for me to do!) and then watch him make a speedy exit. !

Phone the hotel direct and ask for the pilgrim discount ...

I won’t be asking for a discount. Spain has high unemployment and I think if I can afford the time, airfare, food and accommodation costs then I am happy for my money to go into the local economy.

Wildlife on the Primitivo in Galicia

I am due to start my Camino in Lugo next week and wonder if I will be lucky enough to see any wildlife whilst walking. Has anyone seen anything of interest ?

I probably won’t do this again

As a snorer myself I will be staying in casa rurals when I do my Camino in two weeks. But remember that not everyone is aware of whether they snore.
