Do I need a sleeping bag or liner?

Hi, regardless of whether you take private rooms or not in April I would definitely take both a sleeping bag and towel. It can still be cold in April ….. even Spain!

Say No! to rubber tips on your poles.

It is obvious that you don’t want anyone disagreeing with you by asking the moderator to close the thread. But I totally disagree with you! It takes only seconds to remove/replace the rubber feet to trekking poles, as I have done for years. Do carry on click, clicking your way down the Camino...

    SAINT-JEAN (1st Day) failure rate 40%?!

Please don’t worry too much about the first day. There are some steep bits but it is mainly a long upward slog. Just take your time, stop and enjoy the views! Within two weeks you will be running up such steep stretches! Good luck and Buen Camino!

On my first Camino in 2008 I saw plenty of what I termed ‘Parador Pilgrims’. They weren’t a problem then it in 2017. My only hang up is using in my opinion a sacred pilgrimage route for fundraiser purposes.

    Bus to Finisterre / Fisterra

Hi, I went by bus in 2008. I recall it stopped in the village centre. I stayed in a lovely municipal albergue. It was a nice leisurely 40 minute walk to the lighthouse. If you get there, stay a couple of days, it is lovely just enjoying the beach. Good luck.
