I would stay in Biarritz on the coast. Nice little town, cozy Inns, friendly people.
But why do you stress? I flew in, took the evening train, picked up my credential, went to an Albergue and on the next morning I sat with a dozend other pilgrims at breakfast.
I took off alone, met a brazilian...
My itinary in July of 2019 was:
Sarria, Case Peltre (not fully booked)
Portomarin, Albergue Folgueira (wanted to stay in Albergue Ferramenteiro, was full)
Ponte Campaña, Albergue Casa Domingo (not fully booked)
A Rua, Esperitu Xacobeo (was new and maybe 1/3 filled)
SdC, km0 (full, had...
Yes, yes, yes.
Somehow.
Living more in the present than ever! You know that every moment is precious and when it's gone, it's gone forever. I feel not bound, but drawn to a simpler, more active lifestyle.
I think that a jacket would be over the top. I stayed in Burgos in July 19 (Emaus) and the temperature at night did fell to a chilling 9°C by open windows. The heat on midday was exceeding 30°C!
Used my liner and a blanket offered by the Albergue.
I am somehow a "pro" and if I feel the urge to get "serious" on a Camino I would just bring a combo of my Alpha 7R3, my Tamron 2.0-2.8/35-150mm, my Tamron 2,8/17-28 and a fluidheaded videotripod and some microphones.
In total that would add 6.5kg of load to my back, more than doubling the load...
The smaller Apple charger is almost certain not a fast charger.
My 2 last phones (Samsung, now Motorola) had both QC-Chargers, the 60W of the Motorola weighs almost double the 30W charger of the Samsung at almost the same size!
Both do charge on different Voltages (5V, 9V, 12V output, 110-240V...
The Restaurant at the Hotel San Anton Abad in Villafranca Montes de Oca (Ok, they offer Albergue, too).
Parrillada Xacobeo in Triacastela (classical patio style)
L'Incontro in SdC (IMHO the best Italian in SdC)
No, it's totally fun!
Fewer people (especially central european), dry wheather, a bit dust and wind and lots of heat.
But it can be rainy, too and some of the interim stops on the way aren't available while vacation time.
I was on the CF in 2019 during a heat wave (max. 38°C), but it was really...
In addition: bring or buy (if possible, maybe at a chinese store) a socket tripler. You will be best known as a seasoned pilgrim ;) Used mine in almost any Albergue.
The Albergue de Peregrinos in Porto!
Sleep & Go in Esposende.
The Albergue de Peregrinos Sao Joao dos Caminhos (Monastery).
Albergue Portela (if you don't walk the Variante Espiritual)
Albergue Milladoiro (outskirts of SdC).
HTH
Have fun!
Bring.
Not needed, talk to your fellow pilgrims. Way more interesting!
Bring. Needed my powerbank twice, once for a fellow walker and once to recharge my camera battery.
I had a foldable Minibrush that worked well for me.
Had microfiber terry towels (like the ones used by hairdressers)...
I used Aleppo soap for all purposes. Clothes, hair, body. Comes in different scents. I chosed the lavender scent. Best used with a hangable soapcloth. After use let it dry before store it in a watertight bag in your backpack.
