19 days - start in Burgos or León?

I'm coming from Barcelona, but I just checked again, and it seems the train goes to Palencia, so that is a lot easier. Then I might still be able go to La Finca.

19 days - start in Burgos or León?

Thank you, that is also a good suggestion. Is it a good idea to plan for rest days? I'm a bit unsure as I've read some people doing the whole strech without any restdays

19 days - start in Burgos or León?

That is a great idea. I checked it and it seems I can take the train to Burgos and then catch the bus to Fromista in the same day. I would arrive around 19:00 in Fromista though (only one bus a day doing that trip), not sure if that is too late? At least it's too late to go on to the next pueblo...

19 days - start in Burgos or León?

Hi! As it is now I have 19 days and it seems Burgos to Santiago is 21 days while Leon to Santiago is generally 13 days - I am not in super walking shape (have not been training much by walking, but I do crossfit two times a week). What would you do? It's important for me to end in Santiago, so...

    Scared to walk alone

Thank you! I'm sure that will be the case, it helps hearing all the comments! There are more albergues in Burgos, is there one in specific you can recommend?

    Scared to walk alone

I'm planning on arriving with the train in the afternoon and find an albergue to stay at, so the chances of finding other people is probably big! And walking poles is a great idea, as stupid as it is, that would probably make me feel safer haha! And I'm sure you're right that I'll wonder what I...

    Booking accommodation in Easter week?

Thank you for your reply! The issue is that my boyfriend is one of those Spanish work folk and he has his holiday right there (along with the rest of Spain). We are considering if he can get of work 23rd and 24th so we can arrive a day or two later to Santiago, but that is the furthest it can be...

    Scared to walk alone

No, walking alone is not the issue I guess, I guess irrational fear is the issue for me;)

    Scared to walk alone

Thank you for sharing. That is also what I've been a bit surprised about, because I am used to travelling on my own. Feeling lonely doesn't scare me (as you say, it is how life is sometimes), but I think I am mostly scared of being 'left behind' so to speak. It is an irrational fear, but...

    Scared to walk alone

Thank you for sharing your experience, that is exactly what I am hoping will happen.

    Scared to walk alone

Thank you for sharing! And good advice on how to go about it. I walked 11km in 2:30h the other day (without gear), which I think is quite a normal average. How much are you planning on walking each day? I am thinking roughly 20-25km depending, but I want to go with the flow of how I feel instead...

    Scared to walk alone

Thank you Helen, this is very very helpful. I think that's also what caught me off guard, that I am used to travelling on my own, but for some reason this journey scares me. I am definitely worried about 'personal safety', and while I do know it is irrational (I am European myself, from Denmark...

    Scared to walk alone

Thank you, that is very helpful. I have been looking at some guidebooks and made a rough plan based on those, so between 20-25km each day.

    Scared to walk alone

I am going a bit back an forth on this one - I really do like having the freedom do walk the distance I want, but I'm also finding myself scared of walking alone now, especially as I'm starting on la meseta. Which is strange, given I have travelled around India and Nepal on my own for a year...

    Booking accommodation in Easter week?

Hi! I'm setting out on my first Camino in the end of March from Burgos. My boyfriend can only get a few days of work, and is planning to meet me in Sarria (the 16th of April) and we'll do the rest of the walk together. That means we will arrive in Santiago either Easter day (21st) or the day...
