We want to walk the Cami Sant Jaume next spring from Tarragona to Llieda. I can find only the most basic of information about it on line. Can anyone suggest a comprehensive guide with stages, accommodations and terrain?
We walked the VdlP last year in April/May. I posted a blog everyday and many of your questions are answered from my point of view. Check out bobscaminoblog.wordpress.com or send me and e-mail address and I’ll forward an invite.
I beg to differ ... we stayed at Hotel Asturius just last week, not because we wanted to but we had to ... couldn't find anything else at the time. We thought it was way overpriced for what we got. I will admit that the restaurant was good but to compare it to a highly rated restaurant ... no...
We are here as well, at Triana Hostel, and starting out at about 7:00 in the morning. We could be at the end of Triana bridge at that time if you want to walk together. Plan is to take River Route to Santiponce. How will we know you?
I’ll give it a try. I will be walking the Via de la Plata this spring, Seville to Astorga and then, Viana to Burgos on the Camino Frances. Two months and about 500 miles in all, covering a great deal of the country.
We leave for Spain on April 4th and plan to step off on the VdlP from Seville on the morning of the 8th. We will walk to Astorga, then, train to Viana and another walk on the Camino Francés to Burgos. For those interested, I’ll be posting a blog along the way, with pictures, observations and...
Arriving Seville on April 5 for two months ... VDLP to Astorga, then Camino Frances from Viana to Burgos. We have a 7hr layover in Lisbon. Any tips on purchasing a SIM card, preferably at Lisbon airport. Will a SIM card purchased in Lisbon work in Spain?
Best to spend the night in Orisson, then on to Roncesvalles the next day. But, good luck getting a reservation. Communication with the albergue there can be challenging and it's a popular place.
Would definitely enjoy receiving your posts ... we also start the VDLP from Seville on April 8. This is the third Camino for us as well and it would be interesting hearing your insights and observations.
Thanks
We walked the CF from St Jean to Santiago in 2019. My buddy carried a Trader Joe's grocery bag ($ 1.99) wrapped in a sarong which doubled as a tumpline. I don't understand why everyone insists on overthinking this. This is nothing to stress about. The Camino is nothing more than a long series of...
My wife and I walked the Rota from Sagres to Sines in September, 2019 ... fabulous weather. I walked in cross trainers with a 14# pack. I wouldn't have wanted boots but my shoes kept filling with sand. A good quality sandal might have been a better choice. I used poles and I was glad I did...
You will be ahead of us but thought I'd reply anyway. We will walk La Plata from Seville to Astorga, starting April 8. We plan to spend 2 nights in Mérida over the Easter weekend.
