    Le Puy to SJPP (towns)

Estaing, Conques, Figeac, Cajard, Cahors, Montcuq, Moissac, Auvillar, La Romieu, Aire sur l'Adour, Navarrenx, St Palais, and Rocamadour if you do the GR6 variant. Actually the route has been walked for so long by so many they all have a meaning. Buen camino

    Walking across France

Some years ago I walked from Caen in Normandy to Sete on the mediterranean. I know I picked up the le Puy route as I walked through Rocamadour and Figeac amongst others you know. I drew a straight line between my start on the map and finish. Naturally I could not stick exactly to the line...

    Microwave Tortilla Maker

A Galician friend tells me the eggs are simply to hold the other ingredients together so you might be happy to use fewer that 6 especially if, like us, you cannot always get lots of eggs at the moment

    Flybe

It is very sad for everyone involved in all sorts of ways. On the lunch time news apparently the Government is talking to other low cost providers to see if they can take on some of the routes flybe operated - so all may yet not be lost

    Reverse route

I might be inclined to walk in westerly direction and get a train back to the start point. Cheaper than getting taxis to transfer luggage ''backwards''. I had to get myself back to Bilbao unexpectedly a few years ago from Santiago and it was a lovely train ride

Le Puy or Not Le Puy?

I have done both stretches twice. Yes Le Puy is dearer but much better value for money. I never had a problem sourcing lunch in France and it is right what others have said the average age of the walkers is much older than of the CF. None the less it is a lovely walk, and if the sun shines...

    Best time to walk

Hi I am thinking of walking from Carcassonne to SJPdP in 2020. Does anyone have experience of the best time, weather wise to walk please. I could go from May and am wondering if by June the weather is more likely to be dryer. I know this is a ''how long is a piece of string'' question but I...

Fear of heights (don't laugh- It's real!)

Hi I too think the only issue will be Portomarim. The last time I did it I happened on 3 Spanish women taking photos. I said to one '' a mi no me gusta el Puente.'' She clearly understood as she took my arm and marched us down the middle of the road. In those circumstances you can close...
