Thanks for the replies everyone. and yes Rachael, I can see that it looks like I'm trying to do three city breaks and a camino in a week, lol. No, we are flying in to Malaga, that was our best flight option. But we are open to walking out of Malaga, or taking the bus to Granada and spend a day...
Hi folks. I am hoping someone might be able to get me researching for the right route. I've walked several caminos (Portuguese, del Norte, French and a few smaller ones). I've booked to fly into Malaga in late October. I am keen to see Granada, and my walking partner is interested in seeing...
thank you for the replies everyone. I have managed to get beds in Pamplona in an albergue that I have been in before. I'll call ahead as I move through to Puente, etc. I think Los Arcos may be an issue, there's little going on there and not a lot of options. I'm sure I'll manage.
Just about to kick of my second short late October early Nov Camino. I'm seeing lots of the albergues as either closed, which is fine as it's entering November, but many of the albergues are full according to a well used reservation site. Even the privados in Pamplona are all booked out, which...
I'm having issues with Alsa.com It keeps returning temporarily unavailable.
Has anyone travelled from Reus airport up to the Camino Frances. I'm thinking Logrono. Pamplona would be a plan B.
Just looking to join a few pilgrims and walk for a week.
Flight lands at 11am (ish). Any advice...
thanks for all the helpful comments everyone. It looks like the pilgrim traffic could be thin on the ground. and I like meeting people. Is there something to be said for taking transport right up to Pamplona, or Logrono?
I managed to get a week off work and snapped up flights into Reus outside Barcelona. I have walked Camino Frances, del Norte & Baztan but I don't really know anything about this part of Spain.
Would anyone be able to tell me if there would be albergues open from Zaragoza to Logrono? I'm...
We are looking at booking a short camino ( Irun to Bilbao, or nearby) for early August. Is the del Norte free from wildfires currently? I understand Navarre is having terrible issues so I'm wondering if many pilgrims have moved from the Frances and headed north for the safer del Norte.
Are...
Hi everyone, I'm going to start working my way through the forum discussions on this, but I thought I'd post for advice too.
I have walked the Frances, Portuguese, Del Norte, Primitivo and Francegina and Baztan, all in the summers (July /August).
This year, I have a window of 14 days walking...
In short, yes for Portugal. A cert proving recovery from infection is acceptable for entry. We checked, and have the certs. But, given the huge spike in cases I think the sensible option is to wait it out.
Thanks for the feedback. I think the idea of getting caught in a quarantine due to catching it is the most worrying. It's an important consideration when traveling in another country. It looks like we'll postpone. Thanks for offering your opinion. We were on the fence about it, as we are both...
We are planned to travel to Portugal next week, to walk some of the camino there. There seems to be considerable concern about the current spike in COVID cases in Portugal. Is anyone currently in Portugal that can advise us as to whether we should hold off travelling for now?
Ken, do you think it would be too cold for the coastal way in early February? And I wonder if the necessary ferries run in winter? Maybe it would be easier stay on the central, and that way we are nearer the public transport, and possibly a little warmer?
Opinions welcome.
